Hi I found your link on The Budget Stretcher. We are almost debt free now thanks to Grandpa Terry's Budget stretcher now we have to learn how to save instead of spending all the extra... We have been tight for so long that the "wannas" have been taking control for a little while. Hope to find lots of help here.

I am Allen. I am currently in my late 20's and looking for ways to save money and increase my net worth. For the past couple of days, I have been reading many of the messages on this forum and have already helped me with some parts of my finance. I am very glad to be on this website and hope to post more in the future.
Hi everyone! Just wanted to say this site looks great (and potentially very addicting - LOL).
Anyway, I was a lucky one who learned about money/finances from my parents and I thank them greatly for teaching me well. My husband and I have been quite successful on a modest income in expensive Cali. Before we had children we saved all of his money and he is actually been home for about 4 years - we have 2 small kids. Anyway, we had some pretty decent savings to start, and blew through most of it these last years (blowing meaning paying cash for cars that will last years/decades and the rest in retirement and a home. But all the same we should have saved up more cash). But anyway, we are just getting to a point of living a little more luxuriously and saving with my last few raises. I feel like we could have done better these last few years and were a little lazy, and so am getting into the whole budget/saving thing again. I also wonder if my hubby will ever work FT again and am re-evaluating our old plan that we would pay off mortgage, save for retirement upon his return to FT work. At best he will probably supplement my income here and there for the next 5-10 years.
I am an accountant and I LOVE money and budgeting, so I love seeing a forum where I can blab on this topic - hehe. I also love giving tax advice and showing people on the fence about staying home with their kids that often it as not as much of a leap as they think. So hopefully I Can share a little, though I have much to learn.
I didn't forget you Reldon, Deborito, happyslob, wannabefree, Benita, Tom, and to all whom recently arrived. Welcome. This is the place to be if you love to save money.
Hi all. Started my journal and decided to say Hi here, also. I am a mountain girl transported to the swamps of Texas. I have a great hubby and two kids in college and now one daughter in law. I have been diagnosed finally as a mild bipolar with other disorders. With help and love, I am doing great. But now that I can think again, I took a good look at my financial picture. Ouch! I have already learned so much from you guys. Things are achanging. Looking forward to spending time with all of you. Thanks for letting me in.
