You can save yourself from gift expenditures! Be creative and make things to start. I've been making something out of nothing for years.
Anyway HI! Which came first - the environmentalist being thrifty or the cheapskate being environmental?
I'm the owner of teeny tiny business Pretty Cheap Jewelry. I handmake everything and get my happiest moments reusing, recycling and otherwise making something out of nothing.
I give lots of freebies in my shop and have a trivia contest open to all visitors. Win a natural quartz crystal pendant if you answer correctly. BTW the quartz was collected by my brother in mid-Arkansas, I wrapped in sterling silver wire and hung on satin ribbon found at a yardsale.
Watch my posts for many cheapskate ideas, but remember NOTHING IS CHEAP EXCEPT THE PRICE!
Hi I'm beeblebrox. I live in Chicago and just started my first job after graduate school about six months ago. I have $13,680 in student loans dwindled down from $17,000 in about 2 years or so. After getting my job, I'm paying more of it down than the mininum payments. Since I got my job, I've read a lot of personal finance blogs and try to save as much money as I can and live like a poor graduate student still. I save about $500 a month and contribute to my 401(k). I don't spend much on extra purchases, but have taken up knitting, so that's where my fun money has gone lately.
Welcome beeblebrox! It sounds like you have a good start on things. Keep up the good work and I'm sure that you'll find a lot of good, sound info on this site.
I'm Laila from Chicago but currently living in Tallahassee, FL. I am expecting my first child in 4 weeks, work full-time and plan to begin graduate school in the fall *whew*. I am searching for ways to increase my savings and pay off debts! I love this site!
Hello. my name is Jason. I enjoy working for a small corporation, and working to raise funding for my dream job. I have decided to do the Dave Ramsey money program, and have been successful getting myself out of debt. Still have some work to do, but hopefully will achieve it soon.

Congratulations on the impending birth of your child...There's not better way than to beable to set a good example about money/finances, etc to your child.
