It's nice to see a family friendly forum like this one!

I am a writer, publisher and sometimes I find that I have to write about American economic issues. America is a great country, not just a good one, and I am proud to be a part of our thriving nation. May the help we give each other be the cornerstone of our success.

I hope that I can pick up some valuable tips here. It will make my job easier. The attitudes and consensus in this forum seem to be positive. That's refreshing...

Currently, I don't carry much personal debt. I do have sympathy for those that face credit problems and financial challenges. I hope to post only helpful advice from my experience and my degree in business administration from CWU. I believe education can overcome major problems the best.

Welcome Magicman and all. There are some that aren't in that much debt but are looking for ways to increase their earnings and interest rates.

I myself had become complacent about the finances and I think that the most possitive thing that happened is when the interest rate started going up on the different savings vehicles.

Everyone is here for different reasons and we do learn from one another and like to share our own money saving tips, etc.

I am new to the site, I am 23 years old living on my own with my husband and a baby on the way. Since we moved out on our own we are now really looking at saving money, and budgeting and wanting to keep our heads above water (expecially since we have a child on the way).

Hello, My name is Alison. I am on a venture right now, I am just another dot in the population trying to soak up as much info as I possibly can. I live for learning new things, golfing, hanging out, making people feel good about themselves by believing I occasionally enjoy playing poker, I love reading, movies and DVR are big plusses in my life. I am constantly researching stuff online & in the libraries. I have a goal in mind that I want to start planting the seed in. They say nothing ever happens over night, but once you start planting the seed, you can tweak, turn and tune it however you want. I am thinking of new ideas everyday & I am NEVER afraid to talk to anyone about anything. I don't particularily like being sold to things but better yet I love talking about ways and plans to make things happen in life. I am definitely someone in the making as we all are! Alison, where in Texas are you? My husband and I are from the Portland Metro area and we just left Corpus Christi last month. You hear the stories about Texan pride, but I had no idea!! Very different culture than the NW.

My name is Rocio. I am a Licensed dentist from Colombia (S.A), and in order to get my license here in the US we are sent back to school for the last 2 years (junior and senior). I live in Philadelphia, PA. Education is very expensive and it's great to find this type of help in the web.
