About being frugal, you're in the right place. I would say that the majority of us here are frugal. You're in good company.

              • Jeffrey, I was very interested to hear that you actually make your living at home and on the internet. I have spent a lot of money and a lot of time trying to figure that very thing out. I will be reading the forums and giving another shot at this. I do feel frustrated by how "big" the net feels. I have been one of those "not-so-successful" users. Maybe my luck is about to turn around...

                      • Hi all,

I just found this site few days ago. I'm 28 single guy from Hungary. I'm interested in many things especially in the world of money, economy. My favorite activity is the book reading. My original name is Tamas. I think it's unspeakable for you, but I can tell you a secret: Tamas = Thomas Is it better now?

My motto: you must be optimistic or dead!

As you can see, I write most of the content for the site. I honed my money saving skills living in Japan (where I still am at the moment, but I'll be returning to the US this summer) where prices can be quite outrageous at times. I started writing articles for foreigners living in Japan on how to save money and it was picked up by several magazines out here...and the rest is history. That is how my finacial and money saving writing started.

I did teaching out here for a long time, but now survive doing eBay full time...this allows me to stay home and I've turned the one time hobby into a respectable income source. I have a auction article currently up that gives the basics for those who want to turn ebay into a business and should be adding quite a bit more over the next few months.

I'll leave it at that for now...if you hang out in the forums much you'll eventually learn more than you probably want to about me

Hello Jeffery, I am very new to using the computer for visiting sites and blogging. That may seem strange in this age of computers but I was not raised with computers and have no idea of what they all have to offer. I use the computer mostly for emailing and I do like Ebay and finding basic info. I live in an area of Wisconsin where high speed is not available so that might be part of why I only use this technology for a few things. I am Karen. I am 43 yrs old. I have been told for years that my perspective on money is interesting and unique. I guess I never thought it was but 100's of people have told me that they find my approach fascinating. Just this past weekend I spent a few hours with a doctor who heard about me from his wife She had attended one of my classes. He was so floored by my alternative look at money. When I told him that I don't feel gas is expensive he nearly lost it.I have taught money management classes to adults and youth for yrs. I also have worked as an addictions counselor and clinical supervisor for a good majority of my life. Nonprofit agency-NO Computers in my office. Many people wonder why I was not exposed to computers at work. In the last yr. friends, clients, co-workers and family have been pushing me to enter the world of blogging and consider work as a financial mentor. I guess others feel my approach could help me to start a business. I laughed when I first heard this but took a risk and found this site to blog. The one thing that students, clients, friends, co-workers etc... have found to be most interesting, honest and effective is my approach to money in the manner that debt is positive. In the last class I taught I asked the class"wHAT ARE THE POSITIVES TO DEBT& wHY DOES IT HAVE SO MANY REWARDS?" Well at first I thought they would leave or call 911 to commit me but they were too silent TO GET a word out. After about 15 minutes of explaining how wonderful and positive debt can be they were starting to get it. After 45 minutes we had over 100 positives on the good old chalk board. Each and every person was then silent and finally said"kAREN NO ONE HAS EVER EXPLAINED money challenges and debt this way" I guess i WAS THE FLOORED ONE AT that time. i SENT them home and when they returned the following month we went over the new way of thinking and behaving with money. Most people really "GOT IT' and had made major CHANGE WITH MONEY. The others said they were not ready to face the positives of debt. I told them how much I appreciated their honesty. I end my blog for now. I welcome thoughts and opinions. I also will share more if others want to learn how I can live without debt. Karen
