  • Hi, I'm from Detroit, MI and I'm always searching for new ideas to save money. I have a web site where I dedicate a page to consumers to give informative information on ways to save money.

I'm excited about being a part of this community and look forward to learning from others as well as sharing my own ideas.

    • Hi -

I posted a few times last week, but just saw this thread today, so I thought I'd stop by to introduce myself.

I'm 30 and my wife is 27 (she turns 28 next week). As of yesterday, we've been married for 3 months.

I stumbled onto this site a few weeks ago when I was looking for opinions on where to keep our emergency fund.

We make good money, don't have consumer debt, and own our cars outright, so our biggest issue right now (if we have an issue) is learning how to live off of a combined budget and a single bank account. So far so good, but it's taken a little adjusting for two people who went through their 20s managing their finances independently and without having anyone to be accountable to.

      Mike

      • Hello everyone.

I'm a 31 year old IT Professional working for a local county government. I've been lurking on this site for some time (found some great finacial advice). I figured that I might as well get around to posting sooner or later... So here I am.

        • Hello,

I'm new today, this forum is great. I just got banned at creditboards.com for advocating paying cash for cars. It's like there is a I love credit or I love debt free war going on in this country. I was looking for a forum where all views are welcome, I hope this is it.

I'm 45 married to my highschool sweetheart and striving to be debtfree.

                  • Hey all,
Great site here. A little about me I am 24 yrs old in the Army serving as an intel analyst. I currently just paid off about 13-15k in credit card debt, and am hoping to start saving for retirement. I just recently opened up a ROTH IRA with E-Trade and hope to start investing soon. Lots of great information and helpful advice here!

Hi. Just recently joined this forum. I'm in my late 30's, married with two young children and interested in hearing what others are doing to save for their retirement, save for their children's education, and also have excess time and $$ to enjoy life today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, etc....

                          • New Here.

I'm 48 years old, and would like to learn to save money, and I worry about my retirement years. I have no credit card debt, no consumer debt, no revolving type debt, nothing. The only type of debt I have are mortages, mostly on rental properties.

I do however have a few rental condos and I own my residence too. I work in the Information Technology industry and do fine income wise. Single parent, two teenaged daughters, living with me 50-50.

I'm not in financial crisis, yet I'm not saving as much as I could, nor have I acheived the level in wealth that I should have by this point in time.

I'm hoping that hanging out here will correct some bad habits I have and help me be more mindful of how I earn, spend, and invest my money.

                            • Hello. I'm 44 years old. My husband and I have had our string of bad jobs and unexpected expenses. We are renting now and have been just sitting and working and gaining no ground. I really hope by reading these forums that we can get some good ideas to get ahead for once.
