    • Hi everyone, my name is Jacqueline and I just found your site. I live in New Jersey and am a full-time medical transcriptionist. Things have been pretty tough the last few years financially. I am definitely interested in finding as many ways as I can to save money. Love the freebies section . Looks like a busy forum and I am sure I will get some great tips here. The blogging section is very nice.

            • Hello,

I have been lurking on this site for a while now, and finally registered and now here I am!

I live with my partner in Connecticut and work in higher education. I was really good with my money when I was in college but then when I started working I seemed to always live beyond my means. Thankfully everything is under control now.

I made MAJOR lifestyle changes to help me get my budget under control. I sold our newer car, started walking not just to work but for most of my regular errands as well, began shopping at a discount grocery store almost exclusively, stopped smoking (for almost 11 months now!), started carrying my lunch to work every day, cut unnecessary insurance, etc. I feel a lot better and have savings!

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.

                          • Greetings, I'm an early retiree (retired at 47) and am loving it. I've been to Japan several times, Jeffrey, and I love to go to the ryokans. We have Japanese friends so when we go over we live like Japanese. I've eaten things I didn't know existed! I also love visiting the snow monkeys.

I got interested in investing and, long story short, I'm pretty convinced that the financial advice industry is, with very few exceptions, a scam. But that's a story for another post!

                            Thanks for providing this forum!!!

                              • My name is Mary Ann. I am 56, work full time swing shift. I am married with 1 son at home. This past year was a nightmare for us financially. Due to irregular employment. I am determined to get out of debt. I am in the process of picking up a second job to pay off some of the bills. I did the interview and tests, just waiting for a call. I am terrible at handling money and hope to become more structured. I have since started an emergency fund (but I'm sure it's not nearly enough) I have a budget in place and all bills are current.
