      Hi Everyone,
Just joined the site... and I am so grateful to have all of your knowledge to help me out. Single mom for the last ten years, have been pinching pennies like crazy only to have something go wrong ( like my well pump, on a holiday) everytime I think I am getting ahead. Living Payck to Payck is driving me nuts! My fiancee moved in three years ago.. and even he cant believe what stupid thing will eat up the savings, just when we think we are out from under. So I am grateful for any advice or help you guys and women can give me..

Hi, I'm new here, been lurking for a couple weeks. I'm married, we live in Northern Cali, I am a secretary, he is a truck driver. I have a daughter, 24, he has a son, 18. I'm currently working on paying off all of my credit card balances, and am on track to have them paid off by December. I'm throwing every extra dollar at it. Once that's accomplished, my goal will be to build up my E-fund to a minimum 3 month's income.

Nice site, glad to be here

                        • MarieC99 want so say hello...

Hi. I found this site while searching for student loan payback strategies on the web. I read through some threads and really found it interesting. You all sound very sensible and helpful.

My goals is to pay off all my debt (my home will be the last debt I worry about). I have been very good the last two years about not borrowing money (and I haven't used a credit card in over four years -- I am, however, working hard to pay off a credit card, a home equity loan and my grad school student loan.

I am trying hard to learn strageies for the most sensible, fastest, lowest interest way of paying these off - i.e. like paying things every two weeks rather than once per month, to painlessly pay an extra payment each year.

I am single with no kids and work as a marketing executive. I do tend to spoil my nieces -- with clothes, toys and books ...but I also realize that they are going to appreciate the non-monetary things I give them a lot more -- my time, my attention, my smiles, my hugs and kisses, etc.

                          Anyway, hello!

I'm Sarah. 24 yo SAHM to 3 little ones. Happily married to Bill. We both come from families below the poverty level and even though we survive on one income, we survive well compared to others. We are homeowner's owing $38,000 on our home valued at $80,000. We owe app. $6,000 in CC debt and I am a current student working on my bachelor's degree. I estimate we will owe app $20,000 in student loans when I am finished.
Our current goals are to finish remodeling our house, pay off the CCs and then sell our house to buy our dream house. We used to be very good at saving however, we are very bad at it now. ING works pretty well so I hope to stick with that. Right now our priority is to pay off the credit cards and finish remodeling. I hope to get some great saving tips off of here.
