Hi. Marianne here. Been working on my finances for a year, and someone on DPL suggested this site. Looks good so far. I'm curious though - I see people with $ Saving titles from pre-schooler through post graduate. How is that ranked? Is it based on the points? On amt of time here? On something else? If this is answered somewhere, please let me know. Thanks!

I've already posted several times, but figured I might as well introduce myself. My name is amanda, and I'm from michigan. I save money because I have to, and it's fun. Our budget is tight, and I kind of like it that way. It fits my life-philosophy well. Other than being frugal, I'm a bit financially challenged, especially when it comes to investing and banking, and long strings of big words that appear to be some sort of different language. My major financial downfall is going out to eat (even though it's almost always low-cost fast food).

My hope is that we'll continue to be frugal even after my husband starts earning more money as he advances in his career (45 days until his first review, then they'll decide if he gets to take over an entire computer network as an engineer!) We've had it a little rough, and we've been spending a lot of money on his education and certifications, and I'm immensely proud of him, so you'll have to pardon me if I start to brag...

Eventually I want a house of our own (right now we're renting from his parents... not a situation I recommend) and a few acres of land that we can start a small farm on.

Hi Everyone figured I best stop by and introduce myself!
My name is Glenda and I am a 40 almost 41 yr old mom of one BS and One SS
One borrowed One blue so to speak.
I Foster abandoned and abused doggies and have been known to be a bit of an activist as far as Domesicated Creatures are concerned. Mainly on the 2's and 4's of responsiblity and Quality ownership of pets. I do however eat meat and don't go tooo overboard in my good will.
I live in Arkansas in a tiny town with great schools! Met my Hubby in kindergarden Class......The boys introduced us. Been married 9 years almost and well....The ups and downs of step issues have been hard but marriages take work as they say.
My qualities that I stand behind is the top ten. Ten commandments so to speak.
I always have said, I with be with ya 100% as long as it is OK with God and doesn't Bow your High morels. Other words, Basically if you can look up and smile and look down and frown while you are doing something you are all-right by me.

My name is Tricia and I am part of a family of three from Michigan. Our debt was out of hand and now I am just reading and soaking in as much info as possible to help us get out of it!

I found this site a while ago through a few of the bloggers here. I actually egistered a while ago, but life just has been hectic so I haven't had much time to delve in the conversations.

We were married this year and that put us back a bit financially. I am the mother of an 11 year old son. We are now trying to get ahead of the savings game. Glad to have this site which I stumbled upon on accident. I have been lurking here every night for over a week now. So much good advice. Thanks.

hi everyone, glad to be a part of this sight. i used to work for a soda company, making good $, and throwing it around like crazy. i have nothing to show for it now that i am all growed up!!LOL.
my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer about 2 years ago(she is going to be alright now), but at the time i decided it was time to move back home and live here(family comes above work any day in my book). so i put in my 3 months notice and moved.
all the jobs i can find the last 2 years are part time, and i am living literally to the penny....so much for the party guy, huh???(i would make that decision 1000x's over again and again though)
i moved in with my fiance, and things are going great, and we are dedicated to getting the most out of our $, and i have vowed to make darn sure that i never get myself into this position again(at least i know for sure that she is not after my $ huh?)
anyways, this is kinda long, sorry about that, but i look forward to being active with this sight, and thanks for all the great advice!!!
