          • My humble intro post

Hey, forum. My name is Jason Bruton and I go by the username IngeniousBastard. I'm hoping to learn a thing or two and teach a thing or two while here on the forum

I was in the financial industry for many years. This has given me access to some useful knowledge that I couple with my own personal experience to develop my own unique opinions on matters of finance and helping people learn how to "stick it to the man". I am super passionate about helping others, so I hope I can do just that.

Anyway, thanks for reading. See you in the forums!

              • Finally stopped lurking and joined

                Hello,

Been a lurker for the longest time.
                Have decided to join.
I’m 26 years old and live in Western Australia.
I’m married to my wife and have two amazing kids.
                I’m a machinist by trade.
I study accounting and finance part time at night school.
I have just quit working as an operations supervisor in the mining industry to take a regular job in the city so I can be home with my kids every night.
I travelled and lived it up in my late teens and early 20’s.
As such I am only now debt free and beginning to save and invest.
I am big on charity and reducing poverty in third world countries.
I am heavily involved with Grameen bank foundation Australia.
I am here as a student, to learn about investing for my future and my kids.

                  • New Here

Not sure if I am posting in the right place or not. I'm a Dave Ramsey follower and have been working to get out of debt for a while. I'm hoping to be there by sometime next year.

                    • Welcome. Just a note to say that you'll find many of us on the board here disagreeing with some of Ramsey's suggestions/tenets.

                          Way to alienate the newb.

Welcome to the board and I don't agree with what Slug said. Though we all have our own methods and stories of how we became (or are becoming) debt free, this is a great community and I hope we'll see you back often!
