Hi, I'm Anna and I love how in the past few years the art of pinching pennies is becoming more trendy and acceptable.

I live in Texas with my husband and two cats, and my art of spending less includes finishing a degree without getting a student loan, surviving at various times and places without a job with a decent income or benefits, and now trying the skills to save for more important things in life. (travel and eventually a house)
My parents were pretty good in not spending when I was a kid as they were saving for an apartment. I have a bit different priorities in what is important in general, but some of their advice wasn't that bad either.

Last year from January until end of November I spent around 70 euros in all clothes and shoes shopping for that time. I tried it as a challenge for myself, and it was surprisingly easy too. Now I and my hubby are considering doing similar challenges for ourselves.

Good afternoon group. My name is Dan, I am a social worker in Florida and just stumbled across your forum. I am interested in saving and basically being financially responsible. I do have a spending habit, but not to the point where it is a real problem, just to the point where I know I could do better and better plan for the future and get better value for the spending that I am doing. I am married, no kids, and we live in Florida. Thanks for creating and all being part of such a cool community, and I look forward to getting to know some of you and learning from your experience and hopefully getting inspired and seeing some real results!

Hey Everyone! My name is Jack. Have a BA in economics-finance... been a stock broker (blackballed for not selling their recommended stocks), VP of Transportation of a once locally owned newspaper ( once sold, new owner brought in their own management team), and now tired of others kicking me around for standing up for my principles, own my own buisiness.
My business is of the financial nature.
I am married with no kids of our own, but wife has 2 kids from a previous marriage.
