My local news said "no in-person classes," but LA Times says "most in-person classes cancelled."Steve

As promised I am posting my results of my COVID test.
1) email says results ready
2) log onto COVID site but no results
3) but safe to assume I'm negative because on the FAQ if positive they will call. If negative they will send an email which I got.
4) I searched the entire site but no results posted, bummers

One doctor was walking to a "CAC" which is a cardiac arrest. The doctor said when we get to the room chest compressions should already be performed. True to his word a team of medical professionals were already doing chest compressions on a 79 yr old female patient with multiple medical illness. The patient was revived but the doctor said if a 2nd chest compression is needed it would only prolong the patient's death and her quality of life and prognosis was not good. 30 minutes later the patient was pronounced dead.

Why does the media only show total number of covid cases per state and the total number of new cases? Why arent they broadcasting the total number of people who recovered from covid?
Over a million people are infected in the US...around 100k have died. Why dont they ever touch on the fact that the other 900k have recovered and survived?

The other thing is that there are still tens of thousands, if not millions, of people who think this whole thing is a hoax, that it isn't real, that the shutdowns weren't necessary, that wearing a mask is living in fear and letting the government control you. Likely nothing will actually convince those folks, but at least focusing on the seriousness is probably the best shot of getting through to them. Downplaying it by pointing out how many people have recovered just feeds into their conspiracy theory.Steve

In PA, they show a map every day of total number of cases by county. This has been ongoing for close to 2 months. That number is meaningless considering those who had it months ago or even 1 month ago probably do not have it anymore. Who cares how many cases there have been. People want/need to know how many current cases there are, currently. That number should be updated daily...not the total overall number.

"Recovered" is a really difficult term, also. Do you just mean patients who were hospitalized and have been released? What about all the cases that weren't hospitalized? What about those who were hospitalized and have gone home but aren't better yet? Some people are still having significant symptoms 6-8 weeks after diagnosis. Do they count as recovered?
It's easy to report confirmed cases. That's just pure data.
It's a little fuzzy because every state does it differently but at least you've got a somewhat reasonable basis for reporting COVID-related deaths.
It's more difficult to report recoveries.Steve

I think australia has done okay we have a few states that are struggling a lot more than the rest of us and that is because they don't all follow the protocols they are given like working when they are sick...but so far our country has only had 7079 cases and 100 deaths...that is a lot of deaths to me but not on the scale that many of you are dealing with and yes I know we have way less people etc...but I still feel we are doing okay..our state has had 439 cases..4 deaths and no new cases since 7th may....so we have had eased restrictions....but hopefully they will keep the borders closed and the 3 states that are still having active cases don't spread it back to us!!
