  • I just replaced my front brake pads/rotors and front sway bar links, with the understanding I'd need to do front inner/outer tie (parts not in stock yesterday) and alignment afterwards. Turns out the swar bar links only were the cause of shaking/little play in wheels. So while I only saved myself $60 in parts, I saved more in time/labor of not having to rent a tool to remove inner tie rods, and then having to schedule an alignment. Ultimately I win on labor (200+) overall as I do it, myself.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

    • I got a nail in my tire, took to the Goodyear store because I had flat repair insurance and found out it was only good for 3 years. The tires that are on my van they do not sell anymore :-(...luckily I had a spare of that same tire so didn't have to buy a new one!

Except now you need to buy a new spare, don't you?

        • Making a run to Florida to haul my 90 year old dad & step mom home for a visit so had the oil changed and tires rotated on the truck. Told them to look at the brakes too since I'm getting a lot of miles on the vehicle.
101,000 miles on original brakes and they are still in good shape !

Oops spare was the wrong word, had an extra tire! One time I had to replace 2 tires(1 was bad recommend replacing in two's), one was still good told them to give it back to me, that is the tire I had to put on this time.

I still have the little 50 mile spare (what is it called I forget?)

James I don’t know? It automatically comes in my mail every week. BTW it is not in the “value pack,” which is junk. It is the weekly sale ads for my local grocery stores (ie, Vons, Albertsons, Ralphs, etc).
