* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Updated my new worth over the weekend - I'm up to $322,000. That's up from $298,000 earlier this year. The gains were largely due to stocks and real estate.james.c.hendrickson@gmail.com

A win... and a loss.
I just redeemed $164.43 cash back from our Chase card.
My wife has a bad habit of dropping our cordless phone handsets. She dropped one earlier and now the buttons are loose. Still works but it isn't right. So I just ordered a couple of replacement handsets on Amazon for $38.77.
Easy come, easy go I suppose.Steve

I figure we saved about $300 replacing the door handle on my car! My car is very old (will be 15 years old in August). Anyway, the front passenger side door handle broke off. I was going to take it to the dealer to have it replaced, but I got some push back from the service rep. (Need the last 8 of the VIN and I had to call the parts dept to see if they have the part). I called parts and they quoted $173.00 just for the part (and they would have to order it). The part was only $11.00 on Amazon with next day delivery--so, DH said why don't we watch the Youtube and give it a try...
In the meantime, something happened to rear passenger door handle ---no idea what happened there because we came out to the vehicle to work on the front and the back was broken off and missing pieces, too. (No pieces on the ground anywhere). But, we have to replace that one, too, now. From the Youtube, I guess it's pretty common for these plastic door handles to have to be replaced.
