  • Big win!

We used to have a bonus plan at work that was based on us meeting various metrics. They dumped that plan last year because the collecting and reporting of metrics was troubled and chronically inaccurate and they reconfigured our compensation to just pay us that "bonus" as part of our regular salary.

What I didn't realize is that we were still owed a payment for the time the plan was in effect. I got an email yesterday that I'll be getting my incentive payment on 2/10 (our next pay day) for $4,457.50!

              • We bought a pair of dumbells, a trash can, a walker for my mom, and a HDMI cable to connect the DVD player to our new TV at a garage sale over the weekend.

                • Sold some old computer hardware that had been sitting in my desk for a year. That's a solid $25 in savings for about ten minutes worth of work. A nice win to start the week.

Nice. That could go in the decluttering thread, too.

Totally Disneysteve - I have a ton of stuff in my closet that's just gathering dust.

                      • We belong to the whiskey club at a local liquor store. They have events throughout the year but next week they are having a new one. It's a treasure hunt with several prizes hidden in the store. If you find one, you win the prize. Of course, there will also be some free tastings and opportunities to purchase product, but the event itself is free. To keep it from being too crazy, they're only letting 50 people attend, chosen by lottery. We just got notified that DW and I both got picked.

If nothing else, it should be a fun evening out. Something to do other than sit and watch Netflix.

                        • What kinds of prizes? If free bottles I’d attend myself.

Not sure. Most likely it will be some swag giveaway sort of things. I'm sure it won't be free alcohol. They're probably not allowed to do that. But the distilleries give them all sorts of goodies. We always get stuff when we're there for tastings. Glasses, flasks, cocktail shakers, bar mats, shirts, etc. That sort of thing is what I'd expect. Maybe a bit nicer than usual. We shall see.
