We’ve been looking to get an air fryer. Today we were in Target and found one we liked. It was $169.99. Since it was cyber Monday, my wife pulled out her phone and went to Target’s website. Sure enough it was on sale online for $99.99 and there was a promo code for 15% off. So we got it for $85, 50% off the shelf price.Last edited by disneysteve; 11-29-2022, 05:43 AM.

Good chance I'll get a couple more yet in which case we will get some brats or other good stuff made.

Two nice wins today.
1. Got a bill from my dentist the other day for $164. I stopped into the office today to pay it because they're right next to the post office. The receptionist checked my account and crumpled up the bill and said insurance had paid and I didn't owe anything.
2. A couple of days ago I came out of work to find my side view mirror busted up. The mirror itself was intact but the whole casing was in pieces on the ground. Clearly somebody had hit it pulling in or out of the space next to me. It was dark and raining so I just gathered what I hoped were all of the pieces and tossed them in the car. When I got in, I checked and the mirror worked and the turn signal worked even though it was hanging off the mirror. The blind spot monitor also worked. Still, I figured I'd need to get the whole thing replaced which I know runs about $400.
Today, I went out and examined it further and it appeared as if I had all of the pieces and they all seemed to be intact with no cracks or broken tabs. Sure enough, I snapped the bottom piece of the casing on and it clicked right into place. Then I snapped the top piece on and it also clicked right in. Finally, I snapped the "chrome" trim piece in place which also went right back where it belonged. Good as new and didn't cost me a penny. The other car must have hit it in just the right way to pop everything off but not hard enough to actually break anything.

Didn't play Powerball. Got $2 in my pocket that didn't get thrown away on Powerball. I have some shopping to do at Costco this afternoon. I just might treat myself to a slice of pizza ($1.99) for dinner!

I was able to fix a broken closet door over the weekend. The hole where the pin goes on the bottom was stripped out, so I fabricated a metal bracket to go over it and used it to remount the pin. Saved about $100 for the cost of a new door

I switched to per diem employment in August. I just learned a couple of weeks ago that per diems are supposed to use the time clock to record their hours. I didn't have to do that when I was full time or part time (or when I was per diem back in 2016-17). Until now, I was just emailing my manager with my hours. So I started clocking in and out and got my first paycheck today since making that change.
The win is that they actually paid me for extra time. I got paid for an extra 30 minutes on this check. Before, if I worked a 4-hour shift I got paid for 4 hours exactly, even if I was actually there longer than that (which is quite common). I'm very happy to learn that from now on, that extra time will actually be paid time.

Opened an online checking account that pays $400 for a $1000 deposit. The catch is monthly fees. But for another $500 deposited, monthly fees are waved. Have to have account open for 90 days, and I will probably close it right after I get the $400. Do not have to do regular deposits or debit card uses for this reward.

My GF wanted to do some fall planting around the property. We headed to Lowes, and all their perennial bulbs and shrubs are 50% off.
So that was a nice surprise

Since this is saving forum - I do feel obligated to mention that Tubi has free content, some of which is just as good as Netflix and Disney Plus.
I will say during covid I got a good deal on HBO Max and watched all 10 seasons of Game of Thrones, I loved it. I'd rather wait till a show is done then watch it all at once, NO WAITING!! I'll be doing that with House of Dragons whenever its run it's course.ha

I said in the other thread I was going to cancel my Disney+ subscription but now with my free money I'm gonna keep it going for another year. My family had a cow when I said I wasn't renewing. But this is the last year

I forgot to mention this over the weekend ... On Friday, I won my organization's chili cookoff (best of 10 entries). Besides the obvious bragging rights (of which I am proudly taking FULL advantage), the win apparently also came with a $50 Visa gift card.
Only problem is that I'm literally the 3rd highest-ranking person in our unit of 350+, and military pay scales aren't exactly a secret... So I need to figure out how to pay it forward in some way (they won't let me just hand it back). I feel bad taking $50 from our booster club's funds that are ordinarily spent on making life not suck for our wildly over-worked squadron at large.
Most likely, I'll probably try to donate it as a raffle prize for our Christmas party.
