I just redeemed $86.73 in cashback from my Discover card.
My wife has $24.67 to redeem on hers.
That's $111.40 in free money. Can't beat that.

I went to Costco yesterday, where they had a great discount on Depends ($9 off per case*), so I stocked up on 4 cases for Mom. That amount of savings pays for half a month of her Meals on Wheels.
And while it's not financial, I also had a short "we not alone" moment of bonding with another middle aged woman who was also stocking up for her mother. Those little moments are priceless.

    *ends today

We've done Marriott Hilton Head time share off season and really had a good time (but even off season the rate was higher for a 2 bedroom unit than what we paid at Williamsburg). I have heard of folks getting good deals, we just haven't found one that we could take advantage of up until now--so that is why I consider it a win.

I've been retired for several years, but DH is still working. He's planning to retire in the next few months--I'm really looking forward to taking advantage of more off season good deals in the future.

I received a $150.00 Luv voucher from Southwest because a flight that I was scheduled to take was cancelled due to maint. issues. (We were on the plane waiting for the door to close for about 30 minutes when the Capt made the announcement). They did an airplane swap, so it only resulted in a 2 hour delay.

I found a great deal for a Marriott Vacation property (timeshare) at Williamsburg. It was $127.00/night for a 2 BR unit (a senior, week night rate). It was off season--lots of attractions like Busch Gardens were closed, but the Williamsburg historic area was open for visitors (as well as Yorktown). The weather was a little chilly, but I think I like it better cold than blazing hot like it is in the summer time. The person who helped us with our Williamsburg tickets said we were about 1 or 2 weeks ahead of the Spring Break crowd. We had a great time--we might look to see if they offer a similar deal next year around this time.

    amastewa98 - Congratulations!!

I have a couple wins to share:

Signed up for a new credit card with a $500 sign-on bonus. I always pay off my cards in full and have excellent credit so there's no real downside.

I got a new job! I started my new job only 4.5 months ago but it ended up not being everything I hoped. It's been a huge learning lesson and a stepping stone to my new job which is higher in responsibility, has room for upward mobility, a great work schedule, and is an increase in pay. I'm very excited! And as a bonus, I'm taking a week off in between jobs. I am so looking forward to some downtime.

Prior to moving we sold one of our cars, so now we have just 1. Because of that, I decided to get rid of our AAA membership (charged per member) and go with Geico's Roadside Assistance instead (charged per car). This change will save us $71 per year. Over the years, the "non-emergency-assistance" features of AAA have become less important to us.

I guess I have one. My DD and I are heading down to Disney for a girls weekend. I got a post card to do a DVC phone tour for a $25 gc. Since I've done one in the past, I was literally on the phone 3 minutes. The guy said I see you've done one before, I'll email you all the info, then a week later you'll get it in the mail. The next day I got my $25 gc emailed to me. Easiest $25 I ever made.
