Rami Malek’s Net Worth Will Rock You

November 1, 2018 by Amanda Blankenship

Rami Malek will be appearing on the big screen in the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody this weekend. While this is one of the largest roles in Malek’s career so far, he has become extremely popular through his part on Mr. Robot, among other shows, films, and projects. What has this success done for Rami Malek’s net worth?

About Rami Malek

Malek was born on May 12, 1981, in Los Angeles. His family is Coptic Egyptian and he was raised in the Coptic Orthodox church. He has two siblings, an identical twin brother named Sami, and an older sister.

The actor graduated from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California in 1999. He attended school with actresses Rachel Bilson and Kirsten Dunst. After graduating high school, he went on to pursue of Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Evansville (Indiana).

It wasn’t long after graduation that Malek landed his first acting gig. In 2004, he began his career as a guest-star on Gilmore Girls. During the same year, he voiced characters for Halo 2. By 2005, he received his Screen Actors Guild card after appearing in two episodes of Over There. Then he scored a recurring role in The War at Home on Fox.

In 2006, he made his film debut in Night at the Museum. He played Pharaoh Ahkmenrah and reprised the roles in the two sequels to the film in 2009 and 2014. While shooting the Night at the Museum films, he was also actively seeking television roles. During this time, he scored a recurring role on the hit television series 24.

Later in 2010, he received amazing reviews on his portrayal of Corporal Merriell Shelton in the HBO mini-series The Pacific. After the intense filming for the show, he left Hollywood for a brief break in Argentina.

The Pacific led to even more work for Malek. While filming the show he met Tom Hanks who was impressed by Malek’s performance. Later, Hanks cast Malek as Steve Dibiasi in Larry Crowne (2011). During this time he continued to land supporting roles in major films such as Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Short Term 12, Oldboy, Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, Battleship, The Master, and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.

Mr. Robot to the Present

All of this led Malek to his biggest break: Mr. Robot. His performance in the television series has earned him numerous award nominations as well as wins for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series and Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Malek scored his first starring role in a film in September 2016 (Buster’s Mal Heart). He went on to star in Papillon (2017) and then landed his role as Freddie Mercury in the 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody.

In addition to his work on the big and small screen, Malek appeared on stage in The Credeaux Canvas in Los Angeles (2007). He also voiced Josh in Until Dawn, a horror video game for PlayStation 4 (2015).

All of this has earned him great recognition and several awards. Malek also won the Young Alumnus Award from the University of Evansville and was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. But what has all of this done for his wealth?

Rami Malek’s Net Worth

Currently, Rami Malek’s net worth sits around $8 million. Most of his earnings stem directly from the work he has done as an actor. However, this $8 million figure does not include the cash he will rake in from his role in Bohemian Rhapsody.

That said, a portion of his net worth also stems from the value of his Los Angeles home, which he owns with his twin brother. Although his total net worth is in the millions, Malek chooses to cohabitate with family and he’s also fairly conscientious when it comes to his cash. After the first season of Mr. Robot (which has been the biggest hit for the star thus far), he reportedly used his first big paycheck to pay off his student loans.

There haven’t been any huge endorsement deals yet and, honestly, it doesn’t seem like one of Malek’s primary interests right now. Malek also doesn’t own any additional property that contributes to his overall net worth. However, it won’t be a surprise if the actor’s wealth skyrockets in the future. And, based on how he’s used his cash so far, it is safe to say he won’t be broke any time soon either.

Readers, are you going to see “Bohemian Rhapsody” this weekend? What do you think of this actor?
