What Was Adam West’s Net Worth?

June 15, 2017 by James Hendrickson

Adam West's Net Worth

If you follow the world of celebrities or you’re a Batman fan you probably heard about the tragic loss of actor Adam West this week. West, who was known to many as Batman (or the voice of the mayor on “Family Guy”), really made a name for himself over the years. His career brightened the lives of many and, now that he and his career are being laid to rest, many people are wondering, what was Adam West’s net worth? What will the former Hollywood star leave to his family?

Adam West’s Profile:

Net worth in 2017: $6 million
Profession: Actor
Age: Died at 88
Source Of Wealth: Acting
Residence: Los Angeles
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
Marital Status: Marcelle Tagand Lear, Widow
Education: Whitman College

About Adam West

Adam West (William West Anderson) was born on September 19, 1928 in Walla Walla, Washington. West knew from a young age that he wanted to end up in Hollywood. His mother, who abandoned her dreams of going to Hollywood for her family, had always been an inspiration to West.

He began his career on a show called “El Kini Popo Show.” He started out as the sidekick and later became the star. West went on to play smaller roles here and there until he landed the role of Batman in 1966.

Playing Batman is really what changed West’s career. The show in which he played the hero ran from 1966 until 1968 (not extremely long) but what he did in the years afterward is what really helped Adam West become the Batman.

After taking on the role of Batman he went on to do some smaller-scale projects but always kept returning to play the superhero. He voiced the Bat in multiple animated series and donned the suit quite a few more times as well. He’s played Batman in other series and appeared as the Bat in some advertisements through the 80s.

In the 90s, Tim Burton took charge of the new Batman films and West was slated to appear in them but did not, nor has he appeared in any newer Batman movies. Yet, West continues to live in many people’s hearts as Batman. So, what did all that fame bring West in terms of fortune?

Adam West’s Net Worth

Adam West's Net WorthAdam West’s net worth only sat at $6 million at his time of death. That being said, he hasn’t been in the spotlight as “Batman,” the part that made him most of his cash, for quite some time. At one time he was one of the highest paid actors but his age prevented him from taking on action roles. So how else did West make his cash in the later years?

Well, West was also the voice of the mayor on the hit cartoon sitcom “Family Guy.” Many people loved that Adam West actually voiced himself in the show and also enjoyed his rather quirky character. He’s also voiced Batman in multiple animated series and films, Barnacle Boy on Spongebob and various other popular animated voices. Additionally, West has appeared in several advertising campaigns that have contributed to his net worth as well.

His overall net worth dwindled in the later years but his legend will live on. In fact, Los Angeles plans to light up town hall with the bat signal in honor of the actor tonight. Many people will miss Adam West, that is for sure, but his legacy as Batman and as a hero will live on.
