Chevron is the outlier with the highest prices. I just filled up at ARCO in Torrance, California at $5.79.

Wowie--that's quite a jump from a few days ago! We were just visiting the Los Angeles area (Disneyland) --filled up our rental car on departure (3/26/2026) at a Costco station. It was $5.40/gallon (about .40/gallon cheaper than the neighboring stations).Originally posted by QuarterMillionMan View PostLos Angeles biodiesel is approaching $8 (not sure if it's the same as diesel).

There will be the simps who hang on and insist current pricing is normal and unrelated to the current elective geopolitical conflict in the middle East, yes. There is that.Originally posted by myrdale View PostGas prices go up and down all the time. I fail to understand all the heartburn. We're headed into summer on top of that. It looks like 2017 to 2021 prices weren't too bad. Then they really took off and didn't settle out till around 2025. Hmmm I wonder?

Ua_Guy, for sure. Its like the war kicked off in Iran and then the stock market decided it wanted to take a nose dive. I think everyone is basically feeling like they deserve better.

I want the economy to grow solidly and meaningfully, rising the tide and lifting all boats. And I want our country to not be at war. It's too much to ask for right now, I know.

DOW falls into correction territory as war looms. I'd like to see a huge crash where everything comes on sale (ie, stocks, real estate, etc).

except inflation will push prices back up and weaker dollar inflating the market. And jerome just said he's not cutting ratesOriginally posted by ua_guy View Post35-40k is my rough guesstimation, mostly without data. That would be a 20%+ correction but I think the unknown vectors are how long and how severe the unprovoked war on Iran goes on. If energy prices persist, we are on the cusp of skyrocketing food and goods pricing b/c fertilizer, shipping, global freight, it all runs on petro chemicals. Energy is seeing a 30% spike so it makes sense that most all of that reverses gains in the market through inflation and sacking US consumers in the wallet.

DOW $50,000 now down to $45,000. I predict when the dust settles $25,000. A 50% hair cut sounds about right to me. What say you?

E85 ethanol in Los Angeles is about $3.50 for those lucky enough whose vehicle can run on it.
