Keeping Trump out of the conversation, what kind of successful background do they have and what kind of positive things have they done where currently serving.

And to truly be electable, they will need to win over a bunch of the middle of the road voters that voted for the current POTUS. If the candidate supports boys in girls sports and locker rooms, lawlessness and defunding law enforcement, and plans for wide open borders and unchecked immigration you are going to lose all those voters.

I think we need a candidate that has a track record of telling the truth with a strong background in public service and who has served in the military.

Trans athletes are such a small percentage in sports, almost unheard of. It's insane how much time/energy the right spends on obsessing over trans people. That's the righteous indignation and victimhood of the truly intolerant waging a culture war, though, and those people need to go. Let the teams work it out, we don't need government intervention in bathrooms and locker rooms, period.

I can't think of any party that runs on defunding law enforcement or open borders. I do know political parties that want to temper the para-militarization of civilian police forces, and adjudicate when there is injustice and wrongdoing. All around me are democrat mayors and governors who are actively investing in police forces, which were never "defunded" despite the claims of people who don't actually look at data and events in the real world. Democrats also have a track record of running on immigration reform, but, as you remember, during the last administration, they were blocked from doing so by republicans. And when we do get real reform, it shouldn't look like brutality, cruelty, and the enforcement arm shouldn't be weaponized politically.

I'd be open someone who actually has run successful businesses. However, I caution that with a government can't be run like a profitable businesses. Government resembles a nonprofit, but foremost it's a service organization and those are run very differently than a private-sector business. SO their business track record would really need to be something more significant than lining their pockets for personal gain. Most of the ultra-wealthy are nonstarters for me, they don't understand nor have they lived like most people in our country.

I could have trusted Kasich or John McCain, although I disagree strongly with some of their leanings, I feel I could trust them. I supported Harris because she does have a lifetime of public service and I think that's important. Buttigieg has excellent leadership qualities, served in the military and has devoted his life to public service, sadly, our intolerant country is unlikely to support a gay man regardless of his credentials. I'm not a fan of all his policies but he's someone I could trust and I could sleep just fine at night knowing he has nuclear codes.

That wasn't the end of the news yesterday either, another US aircraft was destroyed. I'm not sure how Iran is "totally obliterated" if they're still capable of bringing down our planes. Are we being lied to? Goes with out saying. Meanwhile, trump is requesting $1.5 Trillion. Why aren't we trying to reduce the deficit instead of helping his son's interests in the Middle East by waging war?

On a more upbeat note, jobs for March came in solid. Except the prior labor secretary was fired for publishing numbers unfavorable to this administration. So we really can't trust anything until it's been corrected, and corroborated with actual payroll data.

Sadly for you, most Americans don't agree with your assessment. Here in our country, we believe in the US Constitution. We were also told Iran's nuclear capability had been "obliterated" just a few months ago. So, which is it... were we lied to then about Iran's nuclear capabilities, or are we being lied to now about the reasons for going to war?

You may make light of gas prices but when a big chunk of Americans are spending 20%+ of their income just on gas every month, any prolonging of this will lead to real action at the polls. It's just not sustainable for the working man and war isn't sustainable for our country's budget either.

President Trump achieved in 3 minutes what the past 40 years of presidents have failed to do. Kill a dictator who has been threatening nuclear war with the United States of American and Israel.

We will never know how close Iran was to a nuclear weapon, but the threats on the lives of Americans was taken seriously. We are a safer country today due to his actions, regardless of gas going up $0.50 a gallon.

As far as "war" I just go by what your clowns say. They've been calling it war for weeks. Because that's what it is, and everybody knows it. But according to dear leader, the "war" will wrap up in 2-3 weeks. Federal agents in the case of Alex Pretti seemed to think 10 rounds between two agents at close range was the appropriate number.

You don't draw to intimidate. You don't shoot to maim, you don't shoot to slow down.

You target center of mass and you don't stop firing until the target is neutralized. And by neutralized, I mean deceased.

One shot, or twenty, you don't stop firing until the target is dead. Then you call an ambulance.

During the scuffle as they were trying to restrain him the gun was spotted by law enforcement and he was shot. He was violently resisting, was not in cuffs and who knows what he might have done.

I'm not going to try to judge if the law enforcement shooting was within department policy or not, but what you have stated is simply false.

Both victims had a right to be where they were and doing what they were doing. The videos show exactly what they were doing, and none of it appears to have warranted a federal agent shooting a US citizen, and then withholding lifesaving aid.

There are literally videos showing the entire events in both cases. He was restrained and disarmed before he was shot. She put the car in reverse before the officer lunged at her through the window, and in the forward motion her vehicle was pointed in the direction of traffic trying to get away.

But I'm sensing it's useless to argue. Your viewpoints align with your own morality or lack of, and your understanding of justice. Those of us who believe in the US Constitution and eyewitness, recorded accounts, just have to live with the fact that some people are so easily duped. What's even more egregious is the federal agency has refused to cooperate in investigations, withheld evidence from state authorities. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that those things don't matter to people who don't understand right from wrong. I can't change that, I can only accept it.
