Sold an apron to a neighbor. I have an eBay auction ending tomorrow so that item will be leaving soon. I also tossed out quite a few old batteries that weren't working!

I'm hearing the garbage trucks in our neighborhood this morning and remembered that I tossed out a metal pole from a yard game, a damaged boogie board, a broken bookshelf and a broken hole reel last time they came by. I was concerned they wouldn't take it, but to my relief they did. No point in holding on to old things that don't work, let alone move them!My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

Shipped an ebay order this morning and took a bag of clothes and a box of assorted stuff to Goodwill which is in the same center as the post office.Steve
* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Sold two items on eBay that will go out in the mail tomorrow. I ended several auctions, after they automatically relisted (this seems new to me), and will donate the items. They didn't sell in two weeks, so it's time to give up. I tossed out some old lotion and a pillow. My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

Yeah, they do that now. There’s also the pricing feature where they’ll automatically lower the price 5% for you.My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

I don't like that feature either, but I can see where I can opt out of that. It's really amazing all the changes that have occurred on eBay over time. I think I've been selling since late 2001, mostly selling items our kids outgrew or items we no longer wanted.
One thing I've really enjoyed recently is the ease of starting auctions straight from my phone. That is perfect for me because my ebay stock is in the basement but my computer is on the 2nd floor so I'm always running back and forth. I've listed a few items lately without every having to leave the basement.Steve

I sold a set of collectible puppets on ebay, so I'll ship those out this week. However, postage was higher than I thought so after that and fees, my profit will be minimal. I have 6 more identical sets and now realize they just aren't worth selling. There is almost no demand for them so I'm going to be donating the whole box to Goodwill. That will be one more carton of stuff leaving the basement and the house.Steve

I ended up spending several hours down in the finished part of our basement and got it probably 75% cleaned up. The problem is I moved a lot of the items to the unfinished storage area which means I will be seeing in October (or sooner if I can keep up the pace). Kept the kitchen island clear which is a constant battle since it's our habit to use it as a landing zone for everything. Having a beer now before bed so I helped declutter the fridge a bit tonight as well.
Goals for tomorrow: Finish basement & continue to keep kitchen clean
Stretch Goal: Clean dining room & get DD to clean her room
We’ve gotten all the clutter put away so now it’s time to start going through dressers and closets and getting rid of items we no longer use.

I can never decide if I should post this stuff here because it is part of our decluttering efforts or on the Post Your Wins thread. I had an ebay auction end a few minutes ago. I really didn't know how much to expect it to sell for but it ended up bringing just under $47 which I'm very happy with - and it's already paid for and will be shipped in the morning. So that's one more thing out of the house plus some extra money in my pocket.Steve

Had yesterday off and the kids had school so DW and I tackled our walk in closet and another bedroom closet. Took us a good 5 hours and we probably have another 3-5 hrs left for these two closets but we’ve filled another large donate box and went through all the items we’ve saved over the year. Filled two boxes with recycling and two small rubbish bins. Also donated 4 additional boxes of books and other items.
Where is the best place to sell old textbooks now? Amazon let me list two but let me list some others.

I’ll check out that site.

In addition to BookScouter, I would also list on Ebay. Selling books on Amazon is tough anyway because their fee structure is outrageously bad. Ebay takes 10% plus 5% for PayPal but Amazon fees sometimes exceed the income from the sale resulting in a loss on a lower priced book.Steve
