Getting rid of mental clutter is even better than the physical stuff, although this was physical as you don't have to deal with their paperwork anymore!

So today I decluttered and reorganized mine and my DH sock drawers!
Oh man DH's was a mess and I found quite a few of my socks in his drawers!
I pitched a lot of his that were worn, holey, and stretched out.
I have all the unmatched socks on our desk in our room. If a match isn't found in this next round of laundry, they're getting pitched too!
You all can't imagine the amount of socks we have! Tube socks, ankle length, no show, fuzzy winter socks, ugh, this needed done.
Another day I'll work on dh's underwear drawer, that's full of old pairs I can pitch!

I do have a few socks that are lacking a match that live on the bottom of the clean laundry basket. I really need to search around in the laundry room to see if the matches are buried somewhere or fell behind a bin. Otherwise, I need to get rid of those myself.Steve

I haven’t been doing much lately. I need to get back to it. We did send a couple of things to our synagogue rummage sale today. I’m off this weekend so hopefully will do a little work then.Steve

My mother, DIL, and a neighbor are having a yard sale next weekend, so I have been decluttering like crazy. Probably 20 like new (some with tags still!) pieces of clothing, all my shoes/boots with heels (married someone only a few inches taller than me) that are barely worn because I had so many in rotation, books that I thought I couldn't live without two years ago when I went through a massive decluttering phase, and general, miscellaneous household items. Hoping to make some decent money to put toward debt while letting go of what I really don't need.

I've taken 7 more items out of our Disney collectibles room today. Six will be set aside for donations. One will be put on ebay. I went into the garage today and found the original box for it which boosts its resale value (based on recent ebay results for this item).
ETA: Item has been listed on ebay. Counting what I did today, 35 items have come out of the collectibles room (and I think I might have forgotten to log some so it might be more than that). That may not sound like a lot but the fact that I've started thinning that stuff out even a little is a big step.
ETA: 4 more items removed from the room, all added to the donation box.
The stuff getting set aside for donating is not going to Goodwill or similar. It is being held to be used for raffle and auction prizes at upcoming charity events that we attend. DW and I are also talking about planning one of these events in our area next spring. If we do that, I will need items to auction off as part of that event. So the stuff getting decluttered won't actually leave our possession anytime soon. It is getting boxed up and will be stored in the basement or garage until it is needed. But it's still effectively out of our lives and definitely out of our living space.Last edited by disneysteve; 07-31-2018, 04:27 PM.Steve

I just did another session in the collectibles room. I gathered 21 items to possibly get rid of. I need DW and DD to clear them but if neither of them are attached to anything, they will get added to the donation box. That would bring the total to 60!
Some of tonight's items actually came from a storage cabinet in that room, so not items that were on display but still, clutter is clutter.Steve

I spent a little time today clearing off the computer desk (recurrent clutter, I really need to stop that).
Part of that involved going through a few spiral notebooks and tearing out and recycling all of the pages that were used, leaving just the clean pages. We've made an effort the past couple of years to use up all of the partially used notebooks we have and stop buying any new ones.Steve
