  • Guys - this isn't a finance win, but I've been able to do push up every day for 90 days - nice to have a bit more upper body strength. Can't wait to see where I'm at after a year.

    • All - posting another frugal win.

I went into my local Fred Meyer (owned by Kroger) and checked the discount rack. I was able to pick up these five large chocolate bars for about $1.05 each. This is a total win because most of the time these bars for for like $2.99.

In any case I love KitKat, so its a huge win for me.

Send me your address and any amount of money & I'll send a sampling of all the various Japanese KitKat flavors that are available out here -- the variety is extensive .... at least a dozen+ that readily come to mind. Regular, dark chocolate, strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate-orange, white chocolate, lemon, green tea, strawberry molten lava cake (yes), chocolate-caramel, other flavors that rotate seasonally. If you love KitKat, Japan is your place.

        • Is it also made by nestle instead of hershey so the chocolate is different? It's different in canada too.

We can find a lot of the Japanese variants here at Asian markets and other specialty stores, though I'm sure they are cheaper in Japan.

            * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
            * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
            * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Eh, maybe. They're actually kinda expensive here... ~$3 for a bag with 10 mini packs of 2.5inch double-sticks. Not absurd, but not cheap either.

To LAL's point, yes they're made by Nestle over here. Personally that's a plus, because Hershey's always puts an ingredient in their chocolate that makes it taste needlessly bitter/almost sulfurous. Hershey's is also just generally a lower quality chocolate IMO.... But I'm discerning about my chocolate.

              • Foraging for the win !
Picked a big mess of wild black berries behind the house this morning and we've got a pie in the oven.

                • Our kitchen remodel is nearing completion! I'm going to be cooking dinner tonight for the first time since just before Memorial Day. I just brought up the pot, pan, cutting board, colander, and other items I'll need. Finally not having to get take out every night is a big win.

The first cook-off in a new kitchen is a magnificent occasion! I remember when we remodeled ours in our first home...we went from a kitchen that looked like a teardown, to having everything brand new, nice finishes, high quality appliances. I swear the food tasted better too Enjoy!

                    • I'm cleaning out the shipping container in our backyard (it came with the house). It was never full, but now it's almost empty again. Last night, sold one of the more awkward items, 5' long, 40lbs each side steps for a pickup truck. They've moved with us twice, and instead of turning them into scrap metal as I had planned if they didn't sell by this weekend, they fetched $80!

                      • Small wins: I've been able to do push up and sit ups every day for the last 107 days. Also, I was able to come up with an extra $10 today. So some small wins.

One of my favorite scenes is from the end of the first season of BoJack Horseman. He jogs up a hill and collapses when an old monkey comes by and says "Every day it gets a little easier. But you have to do it every day. That is the hard part."

At this point, you can probably start seeing some better definition around the chest, shoulders, and arms. It'll be exciting to see an update at the one year mark.

Contrary to the goal of doing x exercise every single day, is including a break day intermediately. I like the concept of "Your body occasionally need a break. You can chose that time, or your body will". That is more geared towards weight lifting and running, but might apply to calisthenics depending on what level you're going to.
