I only really wear one type of shoe: Brooks Adrenaline GTS. I've worn the same style of shoes for over a decade, and I love them.

Today, I took my 10y/o son to find some new soccer cleats (he's growing like a weed). As we're walking toward the sports section, we passed by the clearance shelves .... And sitting there is the store's entire stock of Adrenaline GTS 23's (the style from 2 years ago). They had 2 in my size for slightly more than 50% off, so I snapped them up! They'll keep me covered for at least the next couple years, and getting them for $55 apiece was an absolute steal!!
I am so jealous I wear them as well. I love them. And buy multiple pairs when I see them on sale

    • Todays' win - $251 on phone screen replacement by Chase ink for having the CC. It is $95 a year and the total cost was $351. I paid my $100 deductible and they covered the rest so the phone works after DH dropped the phone and cracked the screen. AND it's now worth it to turn in for trade with black friday coming up.

All because I pay the cell phone bill with the CC. YAY! autopay and cell phone coverage. It's a win

      • I found a Best Buy gift card for over $150 in a drawer today and neither of us knows how it got there. It's an odd amount so it has to be a return, but we haven't shopped there in years.

Our local Costco was selling the chuck roll subprimals, which I havent seen them do before. That just saved me an all-day trip to the business center. I'm getting into learning how to cut down subprimals to save money. I can save several dollars per pound that way, and it has really opened us up to cuts we didn't know about before.

          Nice.

I had something kind of similar. I was cleaning my desk yesterday and found the mailers from 2 rebate gift cards we got for our new kitchen appliances. They are for $70 and $400. I had taken the cards out of my wallet when we were traveling and forgot I stuck them in the drawer. I hate those prepaid Visa cards but they are back in my wallet ready to use. I have to remember to use them at the grocery store as that's usually the easiest place.

            • Uh... are these wins? lol

I ordered a (single) medium soft pistol case, $9.99 including free shipping. A whole box (10) of them arrived, and the seller doesn't want them back. My other half says he can use one, so that leaves me with 8 new pistol cases to probably sell on eBay?

Similarly, I ordered a set of non-marring wheel lug sockets. I got notification from FedEx that the package was damaged in shipping. I reached out to the seller to ask if they had any more information on delivery / ETA. They said no, we're just going to refund the $47 you paid, and if they eventually arrive, keep them, they're on us! Um, wow, thanks? I was expecting a response of give it a week, see if they arrive then we can talk refunds or shipping another set.

              History will judge the complicit.

More and more commonly, mail order places aren't asking customers to return incorrect items. The cost of processing the return often exceeds the value of the item, especially if the package was opened and can't be resold as new. It's cheaper for them to just have you keep it.

I see this a lot in my ebay groups. If a buyer gets something and there's some issue with it, the seller needs to cover return postage. Sometimes that is close to or more than the value of the item so they just issue the refund and let the buyer keep it. Big companies like Amazon and Walmart do the same thing on a much larger scale.

Selling the stuff on ebay is a great way to come out ahead.

                • We belong to our local Buy Nothing group on Facebook and have given away and received many items through the group.

A few weeks ago, my wife got a serger, which is a special type of sewing machine. It's worth several hundred dollars.

Yesterday, I got an HP color laser printer. I looked it up and this model goes for over $600. I just hooked it up and it works great.

It's amazing what people will give away for free.

                  • Guys - posting a non-finance win.

This year I've managed to do push ups and sit ups every day for 6 months straight. Its been slow progress, but my strength and tone have gotten a ton better. And, for everyone here on the forums - you can do it too! It only takes five minutes a day.

I always wonder how accurate those are, especially for table games. Obviously if you've put your loyalty card into a slot or poker machine they should be able to track that with a high degree of accuracy. But when I hand my card to a live dealer and a pit boss comes by now and then and taps on the computer, are they really capturing everything?
