Nope. Just wish there were more people willing to state the obvious. BOTH of the main candidates are SCUM and NEITHER are worthy of being President.

But we have to pick one, they are the only viable choices we have. I've been in a quandry about it. But the issue that is pushing me towards Trump is partial birth abortions. I just can't vote for someone who thinks it's ok to abort a full term baby.

My stance is I'm pro-life for me, but realize others have the right to have their own stance for themselves. But damn it make up your mind before your baby is full term, how did that ever become ok!!

Now this is a stance that I can respect. Basing your vote on a particular issue that is important to you.

I suspect some people like to see the politicians on late night TV shows, but I absolutely hate it. I want them working hard to fix the mess this country is in. Not reading Mean Tweets!

The above statement applies to all politicians, not just Obama and the others I hate.

The irony of Obama ridiculing Trump's comments about the elections being rigged.

Sen. Barack Obama during a 2008 campaign stop answering a voter's question about whether he could "reassure us that this election will not be rigged or stolen."

"Well, I tell you what -- it helps in Ohio that we've got Democrats in charge of the machines," Obama said during a September 2008 campaign stop to applause. "Um, but look, I come from Chicago, so I want to be honest, it's not as if it's just Republicans who have monkeyed around with elections. Sometimes Democrats have too. You know, whenever people are in power, you know, they have this tendency to try to tilt things in their direction."

Agreed. It's one thing to call him (Trump) out for his "rigged" claims as not being a wise tactic and looking desperate. I would actually agree that it shows weakness and is probably not the best political strategy. But to go on suggesting his claim is unprecedented and then the media carrying the water and running this sensationalized hyperbole about being a "threat to democracy" is really selective memory.

Honestly, I wonder if we don't expect too much of people sometimes. Democrat or Republican, do you remember everything you've ever said, done, or written? I sure don't.

I think where the candidates get in trouble is when they vehemently deny ever saying something and then 10 minutes later the video of them saying exactly that is all over the news. They need to learn to answer the questions differently. "I don't recall saying that and if I did, I'm sorry. It certainly doesn't reflect my view on the matter today." That would stifle the criticism. But when they outright deny things that there is documentation of, then they look like they're lying or intentionally covering up something.

You would make a great campaign manager

I agree with pflyers that it makes Trump look weak by making those statements.

Perhaps you are right that it is unfair to expect politicians to remember everything they said, but I would think something Obama would remember something of this nature. Clearly it was a concern back in 2008 if he was pointing fingers at the Democrats for doing it.

If you tell the truth and don't twist words...it is pretty easy to remember what you said, in my opinion.

I wonder why, as a society, we sometimes don't allow people to change their viewpoints on subjects. Just because I believed something or said something 30 years ago, it doesn't mean that I feel the same way about it today. People learn, grow, change, and experience life over time. Naturally, their viewpoints will change with them.

Exactly, Brian. CCF, just because I told the truth 5 or 10 or 20 years ago, doesn't mean the "truth" hasn't changed. I can think of plenty of issues on which my view has evolved over time. So if today I said, "I don't believe in xyz" you might be able to dig up a time 10 years ago when I said I did believe in xyz. That doesn't mean I'm lying now, and it's certainly possible that I've forgotten what I said years ago.

Most people probably change opinions about many things. I do. I remember once a long time ago in college my dad said to me "if you aren't a democrat in your 20s you have no heart, and if you aren't a republican by 40 you have no brain." Sigh. he was being funny. And just pointing out how people change.

I just read a report suggesting that a Trump loss may result in a revolution. Does anyone here think it would take place? I honestly don't think there will be large scale violence no matter who wins the election. I expect there will be protests possibly leading to some scuffles, but nothing like what is suggested in the article. Thoughts?
