Is Walmart Open on Easter 2021?

March 26, 2021 by Tamila McDonald

Is Walmart Open on Easter 2021?

Walmart is one of the most popular retailers in the entire country thanks to its numerous locations, broad product selection, and available services. Many people turn to Walmart when they need groceries, household goods, auto services, prescriptions, and much more. As a result, when there is an upcoming holiday, many shoppers worry that their preferred store may not be open. If you are considering shopping at Walmart on Easter – Sunday, April 4, 2021 – here’s what you need to know.

Is Walmart Open on Easter?

Yes, Walmart is open on Easter Sunday. Generally, Walmart stores will follow their usual operating schedule on the holiday, neither opening late nor closing early.

Now, this doesn’t mean any given Walmart will have their typical hours based on previous years. Due to COVID-19, many Walmart stores are using modified schedules. For example, a significant number of 24-hour Walmart stores now close for at least a few hours at night, ensuring employees can safely clean and restock.

If you are not sure if your Walmart will be open when you are planning to shop, it’s wise to check its opening and closing hours in advance. You can either call your preferred location or use the Walmart store finder tool to see when your nearest store is welcoming customers.

Is Walmart Open on Good Friday?

Yes, Walmart is open on Good Friday. As with Easter, Walmart stores will typically be following their traditional operating schedule, which may or may not have been adjusted due to the pandemic.

Is Walmart Pickup and Delivery Available on Easter?

Yes, both Walmart pickup and Walmart delivery are available on Easter. Whether you prefer curbside or in-store pickup, as long as there is an open time slot, you can schedule your pickup for Easter Sunday.

The same goes for delivery. If there is a time slot available, you can request your delivery to occur then.

Just be aware that time slots fill up on a first-come, first-serve basis. So, it’s best to plan ahead whenever possible if you want a pickup or delivery on a specific date.

Can You Shop at Walmart.com on Easter?

Yes, Walmart.com is available all year-round, including on Easter Sunday. You can also shop there at any time, even if your local store is closed for the evening. Just be aware that if you use Walmart.com to schedule a pickup or delivery, the availability of pickup and delivery time slots for a specific date isn’t guaranteed.

Are All Walmart Services Available?

The majority of Walmart stores have some services available beyond retail shopping. There could be an automotive service center, bank, hairdresser, fast food, and more.

For services operated by Walmart, they will likely follow their typical Sunday operating schedule on Easter. As a result, if the service is usually closed on Sundays, it probably won’t be available.

If the service is run by another entity – something that is common with banks, fast food restaurants, hairdressers, tax preparers, and some other onsite services – it may not be open on the holiday. If you’re hoping to access one of those options on Easter, it’s best to contact the location in advance to confirm if they will be seeing customers on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Is There a Walmart Easter Sale?

Like most major retailers, there’s always something on sale at Walmart. As a result, you will find discounts this Easter, many of which align with the holiday. For example, food products used to create a traditional Easter dinner are usually discounted near the holiday.

The same can go for certain Easter candy, baskets, and décor. However, a decent portion of those items might not end up discounted until after the holiday, so keep that in mind.

Walmart Holiday Schedule 2021

When it comes to holiday closures, Walmart rarely shuts its doors. In a typical year, the only day where Walmart closes completely is usually Christmas Day. At times, locations may shut down early on Christmas Eve or may close early on Thanksgiving.

It is important to note that Walmart stores were actually closed on Thanksgiving Day 2020. This was a departure from the norm, so it isn’t clear whether that will be the case in the future.
