$5 to $108 in 3-1/2 weeks. The other bottle should bring a similar price. ebay is like printing money for yourself.
Today, 9/6, I sold the second bottle for full asking price of $119.95.

I paid $10 for the 2 bottles and sold them for $227.90 total. Under 7 weeks to make 22 times my investment.

You know that's crazy return. That's like picking penny stocks and hitting it big. I need to go to an estate sale and pick up reams of paper. How do I find estate sales?

I prefer EstateSales.net, especially their app. There’s also EstateSales.org but I don’t like their interface as much.

        • Slightly off topic but not completely, we are having a yard sale tomorrow. I'll be putting out a lot of stuff that was obtained to resell, stuff that we already had, stuff that I still have in stock from my selling days in the 90s and early 2000s, and more. I'm hoping we get a good turnout and clear out a bunch of stuff. I'm less concerned with the monetary result than I am with the volume of stuff that gets sold. Hopefully by the end of the day there will be a bunch of empty boxes and containers. A few hundred in my pocket would be nice, too, but that's just a secondary benefit.

My plan is to spend some of the cooler weather working in the garage more and packing stuff for another sale in the spring. I had wanted to do one this past spring but it never happened. There's no way I can put out everything I want to tomorrow but if we can debulk a bunch of things and free up some space, that would help a lot.

I'll report back tomorrow with how we made out.

Yard sale went well. It was hot but not quite as hot as it's been. Good turnout and people were buying. We priced everything very cheap as the goal was to unload as much as we could, not maximize profit. Still, sales for the day were $328 which I think is quite good considering most items were $1 or $2 and we came down some if people were buying multiple items, which many people did. We definitely got rid of several cartons worth of stuff in the garage and basement and a few things from elsewhere in the house.

It was a lot of work, though I think the heat and humidity made it worse than it would have been if the temp had been 5-10 degrees lower. We were also very ambitious as far as how much stuff we put out because it was our first yard sale in 4 or 5 years so we had a ton of stuff to try and sell. I'd like to do another sale in the spring and not tackle as much volume that time around. We had 3 six-foot tables, a card table, and 4 ground tarps filled with stuff. It was just too much to unpack, set up, and repack at the end. I already told my wife that next time we'll back off and not put out as much.

It definitely achieved the goal of thinning out some of the stuff from storage and pocketing a few hundred dollars in the process. Was it worth waking up at 5 am? That's debatable, but we're happy with the outcome.

            • We had a yard sale this weekend too! Only open 8-noon and we did $300 AND someone who had driven by during the yard sale and saw the for sale sign bought the Winnie yesterday. Way less than I wanted to get from it, but I have my driveway back - it went for $2300, a loss for me overall but $ I can put toward DD's new car, insurance, etc.

I mean I would have been really smitten with $5k but I've been trying to sell it for a year+ on and off so I had the price down to $3k. It runs and drives and I'd had all the systems repaired and tuned up over the last 5 years. The engine is worth what I sold for... guess its just one of those things that really takes the right buyer

I am going to guess it was luck that it even sold?

There is a shockingly large community of vintage RV owners that continues to grow in popularity. Winnebago is one of the most coveted. I'm just not in an ideal location. If I'd have been willing to figure a way to get it to Cali, it would have sold for $10k

                      • I went to an estate sale last Thursday, 9/7. I bought 22 items for a total of $75.

I sold a rare book on guitars the same day I listed it for $64.95.
I bought 7 vintage baseball gloves. I put the best one of the bunch up for auction. It ended tonight for $187.50.

So I've sold 2 of 22 items so far for $252.45. Not bad at all.

                        • Bought 8 tickets for $1848 to Coldplay. Sold 7 of them for $2133. I sold 2 at cost $231 to my friends going with me and the other 5 for people who bailed for $1671. I'd rather my friends be going.

Too bad your friends bailed on you after having you lay out all that money for them, but good job on finding a silver lining and making yourself a couple hundred dollars in the process.

Did you sell it on eBay or one of those ticket exchanges (ie, Stubhub, TicketMaster, etc). And what were the fees that you had to pay?

I don't know the fees. I just resold them on Ticketmaster because I wasn't sure how much I would get on the open market. I push the sell button and ticketmaster resold them.
