QMM, humm, well diversifying across asset TYPES (physical vs. digital) isn't a bad idea. My thinking is here is the major drawback of holding physical precious metals is they don't generate income.

    • Received my eBay order today, I'm happy. Waiting on some 2023 silver eagles as well.

      • I also got my ten mercury dimes yesterday.

It was a nice little win.

        • I turned down a $90 offer on my photo album which I may regret. We shall see. I know who made the offer so I can always try going back to her to see if she’d still pay that.

I did okay with estate sales this week. Yesterday I got a 12 volume set of books and DVDs from a religious series. Paid $12 and listed today for $200. I’d like to sell it for at least $150 but I’d settle for less. Today I got a nice leather Day Timer planner. Those sell well. I paid $5 and listed for $55. Hopefully get at least $40. I also got a dozen Naruto manga for $21. I should get about double that.

          * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
          * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
          * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Thanks. I just keep plugging along. As of today, 5/12, my profit for the month so far is at $380, so well on track to meet or exceed my $500 monthly goal since we're not even halfway through the month.

So many people in the reseller Facebook groups are constantly complaining about slow sales, but then they post stories and pictures and many of them just don't know what they're doing. They provide lousy customer service, think everybody is trying to scam them, haven't educated themselves on ebay policies, let their personal feelings interfere with their business, and just all around don't do the things you need to do to be successful at this. They are their own worst enemies. I try to help where I can but I think a lot of them just want to make themselves the victim and aren't really interested in constructive advice that would improve their business. They want the results without putting in the work to get those results.

              • Ha-ha, sort of like on Yelp when I read a negative review of a restaurant which I had a totally opposite and positive experience. Makes me wonder if some people are such winy, cry-babies their entire lives and will complain about everything and as you say they are their own worst enemies.

Well, no regrets here. I just accepted another buyer’s offer for $100. Turned $3 into $100 in a week.

                  • I went to an estate sale on Thursday and bought a 12-volume DVD/book religious series for $12. I sold it this morning for $120.

                    I love this stuff.

                    • Today I'll list my last $10 blue 4 Queens silver strike (clad silver) auction style. The other one sold for $20 so it'll probably sell for $20 as well. My strategy is to list one at time so as not to compete with myself and possibly fetch as much as possible.

                      • This cocktail mix set was a free gift from my local Indian casino after earning 30 points which is fairly easy to get and I thought about selling it but decided at the time it was too much work to make a few bucks so I just gave it away while at the casino.

                        • Casinos give good free gifts. Once I got this same Gibson 12 piece blue bayou dish set (but this is another seller), which didn't require any slot play. I listed it for $20, and a woman offered $10 or may have been $5 and I accepted but she had to come pick it up (free pick up).

                          • I’m sure a ton of the casino giveaways end up on eBay. I know folks who are regulars and they’re constantly getting all sorts of items that they can’t possibly use, especially when the husband and wife each get one.

                            • Some items at first thought I think will be a money maker selling on eBay but ends up being a bust. Take this Adelita's t-shirt which is a club in Mexico which Adelita's sells brand new for $10. I listed it on eBay for $29, and thought if it sells fast I would buy more and make some money but luckily I only bought 2, one to keep and wear for myself and one to try selling on eBay. It took so long to sell and in the end I accepted an offer for $15 which was not worth the hassle. I'll buy more for myself in the future but not to sell on eBay.

It's always good to do a search for sold comps before buying something if possible. That lets you see how many have sold, for what prices, and how many are actively listed.
