This is a better representation of the same $300 win ($290 more accurately) that I posted previously. The previous picture above was taken after the bonus round was completed. This was the actual win, all wild symbols.
We are still paying on the house, but the rental is paid off now so in case of a problem the bank won't have its hand out first. I don't know if it affects the policy or not. I dumped getting new quotes for it on hubby a few minutes ago.
Well I emailed my insurance agent and she said some insurance companies offer a discount but the one I'm with, Erie, doesn't. Guess this is a loss for me.

I checked with my insurance person on the phone while canceling the fire insurance on our home since we got a policy ~$600 cheaper. She said that there was no discount either. Erie Insurance is one of the big companies in the area. Never used their products though.
Just found out about a really big win. Due to being disabled, most years I get a property tax rebate from the state. It fluctuates depending on income. I knew that this year I should get $300 when I was done filing the form. About a week ago, $450 showed up in my account from the state of PA. My income state return is supposed to be $840, so what was I getting $450 for? I thought perhaps I had filled something out wrong on my state income tax, but figured they would have sent a notice about that. So this morning, I finally took the time to see what it was about. My income tax return hasn't been sent yet, but the property tax rebate was what I got PLUS a supplemental amount of $150 because our income was low enough to fit in the guidelines to get the supplement. Never even knew that they were doing this. Very happy to find that the $150 wasn't a mistake but a blessing. And our income tax return is still to come. So more money sometime this summer.
Then of course what do you do with mini-windfalls. Put the money in the tax account to help pay property taxes, stick it in my Roth IRA, pay cc bills, or spend it on something fun. I know me though and I will probably stick with the practical things to do.
Do I read this correctly? You cancelled fire insurance on your residence? You have no fire insurance? There are so many causes of a house fire that I'm querying what I read

No - She cancelled the old policy because she got a new one that is $600+ less expensive.
Not a big win but something I have never had it happen before. Got an envelope from the state tax place. Oh goodie, I think finally our tax return! Nope a letter and of course panic grabs your gut until you can read it. Turns out that not only do we get back what I had calculated we would, but we are also getting $7.20 in interest. We had made estimated payments all last year and then are now getting it all back, but I have no idea why and for what time frame it is for. And of course the state to save effort used the same form letter for folks that OWE money, so you have to figure out what is applicable to you. I'm happy to get $7 any day of the week than have to pay it.
We got married a few months ago, and I finally got around to looking at our individual cell phone plans to see which of us should go on whose plan as we used different carriers. Combining our bill just saved us $63/month, plus we got a $100 gift card for accessories because I brought my own phone to the plan, perfect as my husband has been saying he needs a new case, but we didn't want to spend the money.
Yesterday I received a mailing from Nielsen Ratings that contained 2 crisp dollar bills.
Congrates! It used to be a crisp $1 bill, but I haven't gotten one of those in years, but my son does. He is happy to do their surveys for the crisp bills and the extra money they send depending on what you do.
I love 'finding' money. I remember driving along and seeing some bills on the road. Stopped the car (no traffic), hopped out and picked up $14. Best I have ever done. Found a $5 bill on the ground also and both my son and I picked up change on the ground. Not nearly as much as it used to be before people used those plastic cards for everything! To my son, spending 5 minutes if that, to earn a quarter feels it is worth it. Plus he does stuff that turns into gift cards for gas and WM. Found money is fun to find.
On the same road that I found the $14, I was walking to the PO and found a whole bunch of scratch off lottery tickets. One every 3-4 feet. None were winners but apparently the buyer hadn't even taken any time to enjoy the process. Scratch and throw away, and repeat. I think they added up to something like $40+. I have never in my life been rich enough to buy something like that and I doubt the buyer did too as I knew the area I was in wasn't an upper class subdivision!
My friend basically gave me his 08 Chevy Malibu that needed a transmission rebuilt. I put 3100 total into the vehicle, and just sold it last night for 5100. Not complaining for holding onto a vehicle for 4 months.
Just a little win. DW usually gets my protein bars at Target. I bought a couple of single bars at Wegmans yesterday to try different flavors and really liked one of them. So today I decided to look online to see who had the best price - Target, Walmart, Wegmans, or Amazon. Not surprisingly, Amazon has the best price of the 4 so I ordered a box. That saved me $2.50 and will continue to save me $2.50 every time I order them again which will add up over time.
