Sure, 2 weeks stuck on a cruise ship with a growing number of people infected with a virus for which we have no treatment. And then after you get off the ship, probably another 2 weeks of quarantine at home before you can rejoin the world. Sounds like an awesome vacation.

The only thing affected for us is our retirement portfolio dipping. I did see a woman in Dollar Tree wearing a mask yesterday (maybe because the pollen count is high here), otherwise all looks normal. My father has flown, he's at a conference in Texas. He will be in St Louis the next week. My husband has two trips for work (military) over the next two weeks. Our daughters will both fly to visit us for spring break this month.
Of course it will spread, just like any other virus (cold or flu). Take care of yourself and go about your business. Less hand shaking and touching face (which is hard!) will help. We will have to live with this virus in our environment going forward, it cannot be eliminated. If you get it and recover, well now you are immune to it. Amazing how natural immunity works.
One patient interviewed that was quarantined, his only symptom was a 103 degree fever. That's it. His body recognized a virus as foreign invader and it reacted to recover and kill the virus. That is normal of ANY infection. Our immune system know what to do, and occasionally for some it will overwhelm their system and support and intervention will be needed. There are thousand + viruses we live with all the time and they don't have a name that we as individuals talk about.
Fear and stress greatly reduce the immune system. Stop stressing, obsessing, watch a comedy or get outside in fresh air.My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

It is amazing to see some people lose their minds.
I really do not understand the hoarding of TP honestly while Always a good item to have on hand, many stores literally sold out of TP over and over.
Working with a bunch of medical researchers and yet the panic is still there. We had a bunch of THEFT of hand sanitizer and N95 masks.
Unbelievable and to add on top of that some seem put out or inconvenienced that many meetings that would have been catered ( the catering companies that this place uses must be down thousands a week) have been cancelled.
Literally heard a well paid manager complain about buying his own lunch. Many taking advantage of the if you feel any sort of sniffle etc stay home attitude.
If I did not dislike this place before this situation did NOT help my view of this company

I'm an event planner. NYC event scheduled for the end of this month cancelled this week. We're "tracking" for an event in California in April and Omaha end of April/beginning of May. No personal financial impact to me at this time since I'm salaried but the business will likely be on the hook for some cancellation fees. Worth it IMO. Even if the risk is low, you don't want to make national headlines for being that company that held a conference and 50 people left sick.
