  • I have a ton of clothes I have ‘outgrown’ some for quite a while. I am giving myself until 7/5 to either get back into them or donate them.

    • I just sorted through a bunch of mail that had accumulated on my desk, most of which got recycled. Yesterday, I went through a pile of papers on my desk and got those put away. This weekend, I also got my e-mail inbox down from about 130 messages to around 60.

      • Cleaned level two of the bookshelf -- dusted and threw out unneeded knick knacks that had accumulated among the books. Also realized that I will need to sort through all the books sometime and donate a lot of them to the local library.

        • Deep cleaned the entry closet, winter hats, ear bands, scarves & gloves boxed; boots, coats/jackets all moved to storage closet in spite of the meteorologist's forecast for snow later in the week. Anything not worn the entire season was added to the 'donate' box. The accessory basket kept on the closet shelf now holds summer scarves, hats, umbrellas, market totes, and zip bags with plastic rain ponchos. I hung summer jackets, added sandals to the shoe rack ever optimistic. Stacked DH's caps for him to choose which will be donated.

          • According to a recent study, 85% of couples argue about dis-organization and clutter in their homes. In fact, decluttering reduces cleaning time by 40%. Having a place for stuff and keeping stuff in it's place saves significant time and stress.

            Organizational guru Peter Walsh asks:
            1. Can you locate your car keys, unpaid bills and insurance policies without a 'search?'
            2. Could you have a party without feeling you must do a major clean-up?
            3. Do all the clothes in your closet fit you comfortably? Do they need repair?

            • As I was putting away laundry I tossed a blouse that was in VERY poor condition & I had not worn in a LONG time. As I dusted I found a clock I used to have in the kitchen before every appliance came w/a built in clock. Figured I would hang it so I put in a new battery. Not working. Tossed.

                    • Cleared off several items from my dresser this morning. Also tossed last year's pay stubs in the shredding bin.

In the process, I came across DW's bonus check from March which I had accidentally filed with her pay stubs. It is only for $30 but I still want to cash it.

                      • Got some new kitchenware from a co-worker moving. Sorted out all my extra/duplicate kitchenware and gave to my younger brother. Splurged on some hangers/adapters for the garage to hang some items instead of leaving on the ground. Next is recycling old pc parts used as spare testing in my office.

                        • Cleaned out my coupon holder this morning. WOW-a TON expired on 4/30. Must be the reason there were so many coupons/inserts on 5/1.

                          • I have been in contact w/several consignment stores re: my late DH decent/working clothes. I had already tried eBay. I am going to have to break this down into groups and start donating to some of the better charity shops.
