  • Balance before my 9/1 payment: $39,089.48

On a different note, I made the final payment on my wife's van a couple of weeks ago. We had been paying $400/month on that (which was more than the actual payment) and made a couple of $1,000 payments at the end to get rid of it. So that frees up cash each month that will now go toward college expenses.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

With Brexit, Dow tumbled 3.4%. Glad I have limited my exposure from $28K to just $2K ( which is now just $2K/1.034).

Mini celebration for enduring the first 6 months of the year guys. I bought me some fancy beers to enjoy. I got Blackstone Nut Brown Ale and Nitro Coffee Stout.

I was looking also for my favorite Crabbie's Ginger Orange but the one the only have in store is Ginger Lime.

Also found out wine is now being sold in my Kroger though I did not see my favorite -- Germany's 2013 Peter Mertes Platinum Dornfelder.

I"d be very ecstatic once my expense goes down below $200. That would be a hoot.

Not much progress. We've had a lot of extra expenses we have cash flowed such as my car maintenance, family van maintenance, doctors visits, daughter's emergency room visit, and daughter's surgery. Hopefully the second half of the year will be better.

Not a lot of progress but some.

Have you considered paying these kinds of large debts using 0% (technically, "3%") transfer offers? They help to keep you liquid (in case you really need a lot of dead Presidents up front for something), and you can set up automatic payments for as many months in the 0% offer window.
I guess that's not a bad suggestion if money got tight. I don't think we want to take on any more debt though. Yes, it's nice that we have a 30 year instead of a 15 year.

Count it down here. Always nice to look back and see how dollars go down over time.

                              • Went to dentist and they estimated $2600 for one tooth of root canal and crown. That is actually already net of estimated cover by my dental plan. Oh my. I said I'll table it for now and look to doing it if I receive a bonus next year as my priority is paying down the mortgage.
