Ting - Verizon

February 27th, 2020 at 01:31 AM by Monkey Mama

It's official. Ting is on the Verizon network now.

See blog link for how it works:
Text is https://ting.com/blog/ting-mobile-service-on-every-network-but-att/ and Link is https://ting.com/blog/ting-mobile-service-on-every-network-b...

Here is my referral link if you end up signing up:
Text is https://z181d126bt4.ting.com and Link is https://z181d126bt4.ting.com

FWIW, I've never seen cheaper cell service than Ting. The customer service is far superior to any large cell carrier we have ever had. YMMV, depending on your cell phone usage.

Update/Sale pending/Show review

February 27th, 2020 at 12:57 AM by GratefulSaver

I really enjoy my job and I'm grateful that I was able to get rehired after my short hiatus in Florida. Well, as of yesterday, there is a sale pending on our Florida house. The prospective buyer had the inspection today. Not sure how that went, but our realtor is very good at keeping us informed. Next up, appraisal. I hope everything continues to go well as I really want to get this monkey off our backs. It's not over,'till is over.

Friday is pay day for both hubby and me....

Good Living

visit with the financial planner

February 26th, 2020 at 09:50 PM by Good Living

We're on track for early retirement. I asked when he thought and he said age 55 or 60. I can hardly believe it because that just seems too soon. My spouse is 6 years older than I am so if I waited until I was 62 or so, it would even be better. My spouse would be covered by medicare and if I could figure out health insurance for 3 years. He also mentioned the christian healthcare plans aka health care sharing ministries but I'm not sure they would take a couple of atheists who while...

Medical Bills

February 26th, 2020 at 06:53 PM by klarose

The bills are no longer pending and we are currently on the hook to pay the extra $3,000 for out of network bills in addition to my normal $7,000 OOP max. Yuck! I called the hospital and insurance and they are going to re-review the charges. If that doesn't change anything they said I can appeal... I'm not sure how successful that is.

I'm also not sure all the bills have been submitted yet, more may pop up.

Super bummer than I made such good progress on debt this month and...

Snowfall

February 26th, 2020 at 01:39 PM by CB in the City

The snow arrived on schedule, but shifted south, so we only got a couple of inches. The cars look like cupcakes, but the weather doesn't seem to have slowed anybody down.

It was snowing when we left music lessons, and the boys were amenable to just driving through at McDonald's. I bought cheeseburgers for them, nothing for me. The total was only $3.73, and I paid out of my cash. They will not have lessons next week -- it is a makeup session, and they have nothing to make...

15 More Days

February 25th, 2020 at 04:39 PM by CB in the City

15 days to go! I did a load of laundry yesterday, and I will do one today, but the cost of that is not coming out of the pot, since it is coming out of cash. I actually gained a little in the pot, with a Pine Cone payment. Now I have $280 to get me through.

We were supposed to get slammed by a snowstorm last night, but so far there is no sign of it. Now they are saying it will start around 6 tonight. That's about when music lessons will finish up. If the snow is heavy,...

So much for a no spend day

February 25th, 2020 at 03:21 PM by DK62565

When we purchased our last vehicle three years ago, we bought a package that provided so many oil changes, so many detail jobs, free tire rotation, and points to save up to get cash, plus the privilege of a loaner if we needed it. A few months ago I had an issue and was pretty upset and the guy at the service department said since I didn't want the loaner, they would bring me the car when it was done. It's a nice service and we paid for it upfront and have gotten what we feel is...

February 25th, 2020 at 06:16 AM by mumof2

Got my hair all cut off today it just takes to long and I don't have te eneergy anymore to do much (chronic fatigue) and we find out hubby treatment plan soon so that will be taking up time each day..so just easier.

Hooray for NS Days

February 25th, 2020 at 03:04 AM by My English Castle

It's super-busy at school, especially with the admin responsibilities. Nothing like reading thousands of handwritten course evaluations to brighten up your time.

I've known this week and the next few would be jam-packed and so have been streamlining everything from food prep to laundry. So far, it's been great.

Our DD is busy too--college decisions still looming and a funny role in "Little Shop of Horrors" as the plant. And DH is busy with his class. How many days to spring break?

Thinking about wills and last days

February 24th, 2020 at 09:02 PM by Life Balance

Maybe this is a morbid topic but FIL’s recent death along with our ages too I guess is prompting some discussions about our wishes for a time that we might not be capable of expressing them. I never have created a living will because I want to live! I figured that that is what doctors are supposed to do by default. But I didn’t think of more detailed aspects for a time when I could be bedridden and not able to either think clearly or communicate clearly. I decided that I am...

This and That

February 24th, 2020 at 01:53 PM by CB in the City

16 more days of spending as close to nothing as I can get.

I am planning to go up to my brother's in Michigan on the 15th. He won't be there -- he is still in Florida -- but my nephew will be there, and I can overnight there. The real reason I want to go is that I haven't seen my man friend since Thanksgiving; it's just been too long.

Yesterday's walk was 4500 steps. I had a water bottle with me, which I used, but I couldn't push myself any further than that. Even though...

Humbled

February 23rd, 2020 at 10:11 PM by Amber

Outside of a little disappointment, this has been an amazing weekend.

First, I spent time with my sorority sisters, whom I love and adore. Then today, I had the opportunity to walk for an amazing cause MS. It was so special, a good friend, finally embraced his illness, I wanted to cry but held back for him.

This reminds me that life is short, and even though I’m on this journey to debt freedom, I do much to be thankful for.

Using up, making do

February 23rd, 2020 at 09:17 PM by DK62565

I've been trying to use up stuff from the freezer and pantry and only buying things we use each week like milk, eggs, fresh fruit, and bread. I know it has made a big difference in our past few grocery bills plus we are using what we already had. Once a week it is what I call buffet night where we have a little of this and little of that from previous meals. I just hate to see food go to waste so it's a good way to clean out the fridge.

Although we don't live in a flood plain,...

Walking

February 23rd, 2020 at 02:53 PM by CB in the City

I took a walk yesterday and logged 6,000 steps for the day. I did not enjoy the walk, just had to force myself every step. I finally figured out I was dehydrated. I drank a lot of water when I got home. I will not set out without a water bottle again.

I looked up the balance on my Discover card and it was larger than I thought, so my available spending money for the next 17 days is only $270. I still think I can do it.

My car is due for an emissions test. I was going...

Am I Wrong to Ask For My Money Back?

February 22nd, 2020 at 04:36 PM by Amber

‪I made a commitment to an organization to donate $500 last year, in honor of my dad for 2020.

I wanted the reward to be offered in his name. I’ve been speaking with the committee member and expressed my wishes, multiple times. Well I spoke with a member and reminded her this was what I wanted, last week. Today I get a call that it can’t be done, will I be wrong to ask for my money back? ‬

Please no judgement on why the $500 wasn’t paid towards debt. I love my...
