Is Walmart Closed on Veteran’s Day 2022?

November 10, 2022 by Tamila McDonald

Is Walmart Closed on Veteran's Day 2022?

Friday, November 11, 2022, is Veterans Day, a holiday where everyone acknowledges the contributions and sacrifices made by military members. As a federal holiday, many government employees get the day off. Additionally, private businesses – including retailers – may close. As a result, you may be wondering, “Is Walmart closed on Veterans Day 2022?” If so, here’s what you need to know.

Is Walmart Closed on Veterans Day 2022?

No, Walmart is not closed on Veterans Day. Additionally, Walmart stores won’t open late or close early. Instead, they’ll use their typical operating hours.

The regular schedule for a Walmart may vary. While some Walmart locations are open 24 hours a day, others reduced their hours during the pandemic and haven’t returned to 24-hour schedules. With those, they typically open at 6:00 am and close at 11:00 pm, though some locations may deviate from that schedule.

Walmart pickup and delivery options will also be available during their normally scheduled times. Check with your preferred store through the website or app to see what times are potentially available and to reserve a spot.

Does Walmart Have a Veterans Day Sale?

At Walmart, there’s always a sale going on, so there will be discounts available on Veterans Day. However, they may not be advertised as part of a formal Veterans Day sale. Instead, they may be positioned as early Black Friday deals or simply part of their regularly changing discounts.

If you want to learn more about any sale items, your best bet is to check the weekly sales flyer. You may get paper copies through the mail or at the front of the store, though you can also check out the discounts online or through the Walmart App.

Walmart 2022 Holiday Schedule

Walmart doesn’t close its doors very often. Instead, the retailer is open 363 days a year, barring unexpected events like power outages, technical issues, or inclement weather.

Knowing which holidays Walmart closes for is helpful. With that in mind, here’s an overview of the Walmart 2022 holiday schedule:

  • Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 24, 2022 – Walmart is closed
  • Christmas Day – Sunday, December 25, 2022 – Walmart is closed

It’s critical to note that Walmart previously opened on Thanksgiving but shifted away from that during the pandemic. As a result, Walmart may change course and open on the holiday again in the future, so look for notifications from the company to see if they do.

Additionally, some Walmart locations may close early on Christmas Eve. As a result, if you may need to shop late on December 24, 2022, check with your local Walmart to confirm its operating hours in advance.

Do you plan on heading to Walmart on Veterans Day? Are you going to shop but plan on going to another store? Are there any Veterans Day sales that caught your eye? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
