Is Target Closed On 4th of July 2022?

June 22, 2022 by Tamila McDonald

is target closed on 4th of July 2022

The 4th of July is usually a time for celebrations. People gather with family and friends, hang out outdoors, enjoy some barbecue cooking, and marvel at fireworks. However, many people also take advantage of the day off to tackle errands. Plus, there’s always a chance you’ll forget an important ingredient for your Independence Day meal, making a trip to the store a necessity. In either case, you may be wondering, “Is Target closed on the 4th of July?” If so, here’s what you need to know.

Is Target Closed on the 4th of July 2022?

No, Target isn’t closed on the 4th of July. Instead, the retailer is open during its normal operating hours. Additionally, most services inside of the Target will also be available, allowing you to handle more than just basic shopping.

While all Target stores aren’t required to follow the same schedule, that mainly means you can head to the store any time from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm local time. However, if you prefer to shop very early or really late, you may want to check your local store to confirm when it’s open. That way, if they deviate from the norm, you’ll know before you arrive at a locked door.

It’s also important to note that some stores may use adjusted holiday hours on the 4th of July. While this is somewhat rare, smaller stores in areas with low amounts of traffic may go this route, as business levels might not justify remaining open all day. If you’re concerned your store may use that approach, check its schedule in advance.

Does Target Have a 4th of July Sale?

Generally speaking, there is always a sale at Target. You can review the retailer’s weekly ads to see what discounts are available, allowing you to save on a range of items at any time of year.

With the 4th of July getting closer, you will find discounts on products that are popular during this time of year. For example, you might see lower prices on outdoor furniture, beach towels, or popular foods for grilling like hotdogs.

Since the Target weekly ad uses a Sunday through Saturday timeframe, you may find seasonal discounts in the ad that launches on June 27, 2022, as well as the one that begins on July 3, 2022. Plus, you might see some online discounts that span multiple weeks.

Target 2022 Holiday Schedule

As you would expect with a major retailer, Target stores don’t close particularly often. However, that doesn’t mean Target is never closed for holidays.

Every Target store follows a holiday schedule set by the company’s corporate office. As a result, store locations are all closed at the same time, barring closures for unexpected events like inclement weather or power outages.

Here is an overview of the Target 2022 holiday schedule:

  • Easter – Sunday, April 17, 2022 – Target stores are closed
  • Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 24, 2022 – Target stores are closed
  • Christmas Eve – Saturday, December 24, 2022 – Target stores are open but close early
  • Christmas Day – Sunday, December 25, 2022 – Target stores are closed
  • New Year’s Eve – Saturday, December 31, 2022 – Target stores are open but close early

Before the pandemic, Target was usually open on Thanksgiving Day. However, that hasn’t been the case for several years. As a result, it’s best to assume the retailer will close for the holiday at this time. If their corporate office decides to resume a pre-pandemic holiday schedule, they’ll likely make an announcement in advance.

Do you plan on heading to Target on the 4th of July, or is shopping not on your agenda? If not, do you have other plans for the holiday that you’d like to share? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
