February 17, 2022 by Vicky Monroe

What stores are open on President's Day?

President’s Day is a federal holiday that commemorates the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. It falls on the third Monday of February, which means it will be celebrated on February 21st this year. Many companies give their workers the day off so they can enjoy the long holiday weekend with their families. If you have off on President’s Day and want to get some errands done, you may be wondering, what retailers are open on President’s Day?

Here’s an overview of what’s open and closed on the holiday so you can figure out where to shop.

What Retailers Are Open on President’s Day?

President’s Day is a federal holiday, which means the stock market, government offices, banks, and post offices will be closed. But luckily the vast majority of retailers and restaurants stay open on President’s Day during their usual business hours. So you’ll still be able to run errands or grab a bite to eat with family over the long weekend.

Many major retailers even have sales to celebrate the holiday. If you want to treat yourself to a shopping trip on President’s Day, here’s a list of retail stores, pharmacies, and supermarkets you can visit:
