Personal finance advice comes in many different forms and from various sources. Many of us turn to books or friends and family for advice. More often than not, people turn to Google to ask about their deepest finance concerns. The most-Googled personal finance questions from the past year, however, show Americans have huge anxieties when it comes to their money.

Why Google Looks at the Most-Googled Questions.

From March 2018 until March 2019, there were billions of personal finance queries via Google. The company takes a look at the most-Googled questions to be sure the websites that appear are the best possible information for people to receive.

“When people come to Google searching about personal finance, our goal is to help them find the most relevant and useful resources available on the Web, whether that’s an answer to a simple question or information that lead them to an expert or help them plan their financial future,” a Google spokesperson said.

What Are The Most-Googled Personal Finance Questions?

People Google a TON about personal finance. The company broke down the most-asked questions into different finance categories: saving, investing, and retirement.

Top Saving Money Questions

  1. How to save money for a house
  2. How to save for retirement
  3. How to save for a car
  4. How to save for college
  5. How to save for a wedding
  6. How to save for a down payment
  7. How to save for an apartment
  8. How to save for a vacation
  9. How to save for a kids college
  10. How to save for retirement at 40

“How to save” is widely searched across the United States. Most people are interested in saving for specific life events. Because saving money is crucial to reaching other financial goals and staying out of debt, it is encouraging to see so many people interested in learning how.

A lot of people are getting their personal finance information from Google, which isn’t a terrible thing. Keep in mind, no matter what you find on Google, you should always do additional research to ensure the changes you are making are the right ones.
