It costs an average $25 to $45 per night to board a dog and $15 to $20 per night to home your cat in the kennel. If you are away for a week or more, that can really add up.
You might save money and have a better time on your vacation if you can bring your pets along. Consider heading to any of the following locations, which have plenty of hotels where your pets can stay too — pet-friendly accommodations and activities.
1. Buffalo Peaks, CO
Colorado is a great place to go for any animal lover and if you have a pet that enjoys being outdoors, it’s even better. Finding a Pet-Friendly Vacation Resort
Speaking of pet-friendly accommodations — they’re not the norm even in the cities that are as friendly to pets as the locations mentioned in this article.
Although every hotel must accommodate individuals with service dogs, they do not have to accommodate pets.
And the venues that do accept them might charge a higher room rate to those who bring their dog — and even tag on an additional fee upon discovering you didn’t mention Fido when you booked the reservation.
Look for pet-friendly accommodations wherever you travel on Official Pet Hotels. You an also designate pet-friendliness in searches for places to stay on Airbnb.
And don’t just go by what the listing says — check out what Airbnb has to say about verifying a host’s ability to accommodate your furry friend.
