How Much Do Instagram Models Make?

June 22, 2017 by James Hendrickson

How much do instagram models make
You’ve probably watched social media grow and expand in front of your eyes just like I have. MySpace to Facebook to Instagram to Snapchat, social media is taking over our lives. Some people have been able to take full advantage of the ability to reach thousands (and even millions) of other individuals on the web though. In fact, people are even cashing in on their Instagram accounts.

Maybe you’ve seen girls and guys modeling on Instagram for a certain product (or simply paid modeling). These models are making money but how much do Instagram models make?

How to Make Money on Instagram

Similar to making money on Youtube, Instagram can help you earn cash through clicks/views. Also like Youtube, Instagram models rely on advertising to make money. Well, in a sense.

Instagram models or people that make money on Instagram are generally paid by a company to share or review products with their followers. For example, an Instagram model may sport a certain designer and tag them in the post. If that designer wanted to they could pay the model to make posts to get more eyes on their product and their Instagram page (and ultimately buy their products).

Essentially, to make money on Instagram you have to find your niche (pets, food, clothing, makeup, etc.) and link it to a product you believe in. Once you’ve done that and built a following you can begin to reach out to companies to promote their products and make more cash.

How Much Do Instagram Models Make?

All of that sounds great but how much do Instagram models make really? Surprisingly enough, if the Instagram user/model has enough followers and are successful endorsers they can charge tens of thousands of dollars for a big-brand collaboration. If you’re able to get Instagram followers, most models and promoters make thousands for each promotion.

Many Instagram models and professionals have other means of making money as well. The bulk of big-time Instagrammers have blogs, Youtube accounts and even merchandise websites. Others have published books and launched clothing lines. So, like many other online careers, Instagram is able to open a lot of windows.

It’s also worth noting that many of these famous people on Instagram use various tools to manage their profile. But it can be difficult to find the best Instagram bot.

Highest Earning Instagram Models

Models with millions of Instagram followers can make some serious cash. Here are just a few of the highest-earning Instagrammers out there:

Chiara Ferragni

She is an Instagram model and has her own fashion blog. Her annual income is estimated to be around $1 million per year (though it is rumored she made $8 million one year). Ferragni has also launched her own fashion lines.

Cara Delevingne

Delevingne doesn’t just model on Instagram (though she makes a bit of money that way too). She also walks the runway for many high-end designers and you may even recognize her from a film or two. The young model-turned-actress starred in last year’s “Suicide Squad.”

Julia Engel

Engel, like many others, has a fashion blog that accompanies her Instagram modeling. On her blog Engel has a functionality that allows visitors to hover over and buy what Engel is wearing in her photos. She makes at least seven figures a year through her blog and Instagram account.

Jane Aldridge

Jane Aldridge is a fairly familiar face if you frequent Instagram. Interestingly enough Aldridge was put into the spotlight by Kayne West in 2009. West tweeted a link to her page and Aldridge’s popularity exploded. Like many others though, she also has a site that she draws income from but, because of her popularity on the social media platform, she charges $5K for a sponsored Instagram post and $20K for an appearance at an event.

Wendy Nguyen

Nguyen is considered to be one of the most influential fashion bloggers out there. She makes $1 million+ per year and all of her social media accounts are insanely popular (she’s able to monetize them all). Her claim to fame was a video highlighting 25 different ways to wear a scarf.

Even if you’re not a “model” making money through Instagram is fairly easy and extremely profitable. Once you’ve found a niche and gain some popularity you could be well on your way to becoming a millionaire.

Have you made money through social media? What was your experience?
