Walgreens Holiday Hours and Schedule

November 15, 2016 by Jennifer Clark

Walgreens Holiday Hours

In a little over a week, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. Our stomachs will be filled with too much turkey, and our faces will hurt from laughing too much. While many of us may make plans to not leave the house, some of us will still need to run some errands. If you are needing prescription services from Walgreens, you’ll want to know the Walgreens holiday hours and schedule.

Walgreens store hours can differ from location to location and whether or not they have holiday hours may determine whether you decide to utilize their services. In addition to pharmacy care, though, Walgreens does also carry over-the-counter items, includes photo printing services, contact lens services, and sells a variety of products such as beauty and household items.

Walgreens regular store hours:

Many Walgreens stores are open year-round with several staying open 24 hours per day. For those that are not, typical store hours look something like this:

  • Monday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Tuesday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Thursday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Friday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Saturday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday:
    • Store hours: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • Pharmacy hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

What is Walgreens holiday hours and schedule?

Some locations may have extended or limited holiday hours. The upcoming holidays that most Walgreens will be open for include:

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve

While the 24-hour brick-and-mortar sites will remain open with normal hours for Thanksgiving Day, the non-24 hour locations will have pharmacy services from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Some of the locations open 24/7 will also have around-the-clock pharmacy hours as well. Several chains will also plan to have store hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., as they would normally, on Thanksgiving.

Walgreens will operate under normal business hours on Black Friday, reopening their doors to customers at 8 a.m. and closing at 10 p.m. Pharmacy hours are expected to stay the same at most locations from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Shoppers who are Balance Rewards Members can anticipate store deals from Thursday through Sunday. When shopping online, use the code BLACK25 to receive 25% off from exclusive online deals. You can find more deals both online and offline through the Walgreens website here.

Online options:

As long as you do not need prescriptions filled, Walgreens does have online shopping options as well. If you know you won’t be able to stop in when they are open before and after the upcoming holidays, you can plan ahead and order from their online store any time. For those of you who are die hard Walgreens fans and refuse to shop elsewhere for quick over-the-counter needs and the like, this is perfect for you.

Of course, Walgreens holiday hours and schedule does depend upon location. To find out the schedule for a Walgreens near you, use their store locator on Walgreens.com or call them at 1-800-WALGREENS.

Are you a Walgreens fan? Will you be stopping there over the Thanksgiving holiday?
