Jeffrey Dean Morgan was born on April 22, 1966 in Seattle, Washington. He attended elementary, middle and high school there and went on to play basketball at Skagit Valley College.
In 1991 Morgan’s career took off when he starred in the film “Uncaged.” Since then he has played a role in 25 feature films. The bulk of his work, however, has been on television. He has played small roles in “Weeds,” “ER,” “JAG,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “CSI,” “The O.C.” and “Monk.” Most people recognize Morgan from his role as Denny Duquette, a heart transplant patient, on “Grey’s Anatomy” and John Winchester on the CW series “Supernatural.”
More recently Morgan has been cast as the villain in AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” The television series, which has a serious following, cast Morgan as the character Negan. He made his first appearance at the end of the sixth season and will play the role of the primary antagonist in the seventh season of the show.
