Apple Discounts, Deals and More Ways to Save on Apple Products

January 29, 2016 by Alexa Mason

Save Money on Apple
When you are looking at technology products, it seems like Apple has it all. They have computers, iPads, iPods, speakers and everything that the tech lovers in the world need. Apple is also known for having good quality products, so when it comes to buying Apple, it almost seems worth spending the money. That’s the thing though. Apple costs so much money. How can you save on their products?

Don’t Buy New Products Immediately

Sometimes it seems as if Apple runs the market when it comes to technology products. And while they have some great products that many people love and use, they do tend to be expensive. But there are always ways to save money when buying top quality products. Like a lot of other retailers, Apple products are usually cheaper if you wait a couple weeks or months to buy them. A lot of people will line up at the door to buy newly released products without realizing or caring that the price will drop at a later point. DealNews offers an infographic on the price drop for Apple products anywhere from a week to four months after its release date.

Don’t Buy from Apple

Apple products are so popular that you can find them at a lot of other stores, both online and in person. Amazon, Best Buy, or Verizon all have Apple products. Products from these authorized stores are usually significantly cheaper than they are at the Apple store. If you’re trying to save money but still get top of the line, popular tech products, you might want to see what these places have to offer before making a trip to the Apple store.

Buy the Previous Generation Apple

One of the downsides of Apple is that it seems everyone always wants the new model even when the previous model is just as good. Most people don’t need the updated hardware on the newest models, but they like to have the cool new products on the market anyway. If you’re not concerned with being a generation behind, by an older model. The price will be much cheaper if there’s a newer model on the market.

Buy Used Apple Products

You can find almost anything online, and it’s no surprise that Apple products are one of the top selling areas of the used technology products market. EBay and Amazon are two great places to buy used Apple products, thought you do run the risk of getting scammed and purchasing a fake product. Always do your research before buying and make sure you have a lot of contact with the seller to ensure that you’re not being scammed.

Apple Deals

Apple and other authorized stores often have discount deals around Thanksgiving and Christmas, tax free holidays, or during the back to school season. If you’re not in desperate need of a new phone, computer, or tablet, think about waiting until a deal pops up. Sometimes you can get a product for up to 25% off its normal price.

Apple Discounts

There are plenty of organizations that offer discounts off Apple products. Do you work in education, or are you a college student? If so, you’re eligible for an education discount. Federal and state employees and military personnel are always eligible for a government discount.

Buy Refurbished Apple Products

Apple offers customers the option to buy refurbished or clearance items, which are usually products that never left the warehouse for one reason or another. Sometimes they might have a small dent or sometimes there might be some scratches on the computer. These are new products that might not be in top-notch condition, but they’re heavily discounted. Check out Apple’s refurbished store for more details.

Know Your Apple Products

Before buying an Apple product, it’s important to know what you want and what you don’t need. A lot of retailers will try and talk up certain facets that cost extra money. If you’re buying a computer that you only instead to use for school, you probably don’t need a lot of fancy programs. If you plan on streaming music instead of loading it onto your phone, you probably don’t need the extra space. Be wary of retailers who try and tack on features to make your final total more expensive. Knowing what you do and don’t need will help you save money when buying your Apple product.
