Most Popular Halloween Candy 2015

The last thing anyone wants is to spend money on unpopular Halloween candy. If this happens, no one wins. The kids aren’t overjoyed by your generosity and you’ll be stuck with candy no one likes. It may even damage your reputation in the neighborhood if you become known as the house that hands out the cheapest, nastiest Halloween candy. Read our post about cheap Halloween candy if you’d like to read about a few poor candy selections (and a few really awesome cheap options as well). But don’t worry about spending a ton of money on Halloween candy. A little money buys a lot of volumes. It’s because candy is cheap: a lot of sugar and carbs.

According to a recent offers.com survey, homeowners plan on spending a maximum of $75 on Halloween goods this year. If you reuse last year’s decorations and get creative with costumes, that leaves plenty of cash for buying the following name-brand products. Also note that buying this candy in bulk is the cheapest option. However, if a Sam’s Club (you can get a free pass), Costco, or BJ’s membership isn’t in your wallet, traditional stores have coupons that work quite well.

Also according to a 2015 survey by offers.com, 600 million pounds of Halloween candy will be bought this year. This equates to $2.2 billion spent. Of that amount, there will be 35 million pounds of candy corn bought. So although we love candy corn, other, individually packed candies top our lists.

The state-by-state list isn’t too surprising when you see candy consumption habits throughout the year. Think about it. The top 3 candies, M&M’s, Snickers, and Reese’s, all have amazing ad campaigns.

Comment below if you don’t agree with the most popular candy by state. Oreos, PayDay and Almond Joy were interesting selections.
