Is Wake Up Now Club a scam?

This is quite the conversation. Anything that requires money paid in order for you to BE PAID is a scam imho. It's one thing if you're a startup or entrepreneur, but these programs prey on people who don't know any better. They are definitely not a way to get ahead if wealth is your goal.

It's simple
It's simple. You lose money becasue if those 3 people you bring in don't continue to pay $100 a month....or if they get 3 people and any of those 3 don't continue to pay $100 a month...then you have to either pay $100 again or find someone ELSE who will...hence, if you aren't able to find 3 who will continue to pay $100 a month...or to find 3 downline of you to continue to pay, you have to pay again...and if you aren' getting a residual, you've lost money.. Period.Originally posted by r1cka1me1da View PostI dont get how you lose money if you only pay $100 to join and if you bring in 3 people, you no longer have to pay $100 monthly...i dont think you guys full researched wake up now
And to get a residual, you have to not only get 3...but help those 3 get their 3...and somewhere in the downline, those 3 have to CONTINUE to pay monthly...every month...or you get nothing.Last edited by MikeSamps; 10-28-2013, 09:53 AM.

False!
This is just not true & this is the frustrating part that makes everyone so skeptical and against the WUN advertisements. If you simply bring in three people, the only way for you to "NO LONGER HAVE TO PAY $100 MONTHLY" is if those 3 you bring in CONTINUE TO PAY their $100 monthly ....or if they find 3 people to join & if those 3 people continue to pay $100 monthly. The truth & the bottom line is that the last down-line of people HAVE TO CONTINUE to pay the $100 monthly. If someone only pays the $100 ONE TIME, then that next month you have to pay again or find someone else who will. Only active WUN "employees" won't hve to pay monthly or get a residual, so you must consistently ensure that "someone" downline of you is going to continue to pay...it's that simple. You have to continually non-stop recruit...or have those beneath you continuously non-stop recruit...Originally posted by r1cka1me1da View Post-_- again with this monthly fee bull****, dont you guys read! once you join, if you bring in 3 people, you no longer have to pay $100 monthlyLast edited by MikeSamps; 10-28-2013, 09:52 AM.

No, it is you who has the reading comprehension problem. Skware stated that two people lost their full time jobs due to WUN, and now have no paycheck at all. In your zeal to get more people for your not-quite-pyramid scheme, you missed his point altogether.Originally posted by r1cka1me1da View Post-_- again with this monthly fee bull****, dont you guys read! once you join, if you bring in 3 people, you no longer have to pay $100 monthly
You know that WUN has a limited time before it plays out completely. If every person who joined recruited three people in three months (to get rid of their $100 fee) and if it started with 100 people, then every person in the US would be a member in less than three and a half years. Every man, woman, and child in the US would be a member, not just households. Therefore, the scheme fails in three and a half years when the last 160 million people have joined at a cost of $16 billion dollars, leaving absolutely no one being left to join.
So, the premise of WUN is just a modified Ponzi scheme, but legally within bounds because there is some "product" involved. If you like, I'll post the spreadsheet to show the figures. Also, each member would still have to pay on average, three months of fees before they were "free," so the total amount spent would be in the neighborhood of $119 billion dollars, just for the enrollment fees for three months for everyone, including the $48 billion the last set of enrollees would pay for their three months until they realized there was no one left to recruit.
If you started with just one person, the amount of time is four and a half years, and the dollar figures are almost identical. And if old members continued to recruit (and that's part of the plan, right?), then the amount of time decreases and the dollar aggregate is split between fewer folks. I guess if I were trying to get part of a $100 billion pie, I'd get pretty defensive if someone were to talk bad about the bakery, too.

I'm a wal-mart assistant manager (i know a soulless drone). Earlier today i had multiple complaints from customers about two cashiers harassing them to join wake up now. Obviously this is a conflict of interest for us and I had to terminate both associates. Doing a little research now to see how badly these young gentleman have ruined their financial lives and quite honestly I wish I could have found a way for them to keep their jobs. How are they going to afford their 100$ dues with no income? So for anyone considering wake up now or any marketing "club" at least consider this: if it costs you your only income how can it possibly benefit you?

this is a good question that even i am wondering...im inches away from joining wake up nowOriginally posted by MikeSamps View Post2.) Is it true that you only get paid residually (the $600 or whatever amount) if you continue to keep the people you signed up paying the $100 a month. WUN makes it seem that if you get 3 people and then get them to get 3, you won't have to do anything else, but will still make the $600 no matter what. But from what I know personally, those last 3 have to continue to pay the $100 a month or you won't get paid and will then have to pay another $100 a month until you or someone down line of you can find 3 people to CONTINUE to pay $100 a month. And the second one person doesn't, it falls back on you to pay the $100 a month or to find someone else who will. I wish the WUN information that is out there would make it clear that you have to remain 'active' to get paid...

If you are one who uses them or wants to try to save some money, it could definitely benefit you a lot! Just using them a few times a week could save you a couple hundred bucks on your daily expenses. You are also able to download this app call Tax bot. You are a small business owner by being a member, and Tax bot allows you to save thousands of dollars a year on your taxes just by claiming gas expensions (traveling to town or to a club just to meet people and talk to them about wakeupnow.) food expensions, etc. You can receive a discount on your cell phone bill, on vacation packages, it basically helps you save a lot of money on things you do or use everyday. Now, if you find 3 people to sign up for the company then you never have to pay the membership fee again. If those 3 people hire 3 people you could make roughly $600 a month. They will pay you $80 per referral. The chain keeps building as you refer more people as does your payments. They give you a debit card you can use that has all your earnings on it so it's not like you have to wait for a check or a certain time of the month to receive it, it is always available to you. So to make it as simple as possible it's like you are signing up to save tons of money, and refer people to make money. (that would be the work part of the deal) I joined it and I'm pretty happy with it so far! The decision is completely up to you, but I hope I helped explain it better. Good luck!
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask me! You don't have to join my team, but I wouldn't say no if you wanted to lol, I just want to make sure no matter what your decision is, you are completely informed first.
Finally!! Someone who isn't defensive or condescending when supporting Wake Up Now...thank you
Just a couple of questions I personally have for you since I also know someone involved:
1.) Is there another benefit to joining besides the aspect of being able to recruit other people? Since you can get the discounts for free online and the Taxbot for only $19.95. What is the reason you use to recruit people and tell them that it's worth the $100 a month. Almost everyone who says it isn't worth it talks about all the free discounts you can get online, so I'm wondering other than being able to recruit, is there another benefit to paying $100 a month? Why pay for something that you can get the exact same for...for free?
2.) Is it true that you only get paid residually (the $600 or whatever amount) if you continue to keep the people you signed up paying the $100 a month. WUN makes it seem that if you get 3 people and then get them to get 3, you won't have to do anything else, but will still make the $600 no matter what. 3.) And in addition to the help 3 get 3, don't you also now have to have 7 regular paying customers in order to make any money?

Personal Experience.
No personal experience! Ha, unfortunately my spouse was duped into this. Someone I sleep, eat, take care of children, & live with every day was duped, so uh yeah, that's personal experience. I live with her and saw her interactions....as well as the interactions of the WUN "family" (laughable) that she called it. And her brother, my brother in-law also fell prey. Now "I" wasn't personally duped because I have more common sense and real-world experience to fall for these types of scams, but if the person I live with & see on a daily basis was taken advantage of, that's all the personal experience I need. Fortunately some of us can learn from others and not fall prey without having to "learn the hard way".Originally posted by friends View PostBoth of you have no personal experience so anything you say is worthless. Only those of us who are doing it can truly know the truth. Why do you want to keep people from making more money than they ever dreamed of?
It's not that we want to keep people from making money. That's a joke. Who does that? Who sits up and sees a company thriving and profiting and decides to attack that company because "hey we don't want those hard-working individuals making money - NO!" It doesn't make sense. We comment on posts like these to try and stop those who are more gullible to end up "losing money". I tried with my wife. Talked to her about it...told her it wasn't wise, but she wouldn't listen. I knew it would only be a matter of time until she saw what I was talking about, so I let her learn the hard way. Because if I would have kept pushing, kept talking the opportunity down, she would have just defended it and then resented me because she didn't get to try...and would have seen it that I blocked her from an amazing opportunity. But instead I let her have her way and lose the $200 ($100 for 2 months) just for a life lesson. I bet you she won't invest any more money into these false-hope scams because she saw 1st hand. And I saw her (while she was between jobs) day in & day out devote 100% of her time into advertising WUN & annoying all her FB friends. She gave it her all, so it was not for lack of trying...listened on the calls, used lead lists...bombarded friends and family...but the bottom line is the product just isn't great. Period. Sure if the product was "amazing"...it could have worked, but it's just not. So there are only so many gullible people in the world who will put money into this, and once all these people have given their money, the MLM will transform into something else. Just give it time and these scam victims will quiet down and unfortunately move on & get tricked into the next big thing. And at least I only have to work 9-5. I don't have to email, spam, & adevertise 22 hours a day just to get word of my prodcut out. That gets old. And the second you stop, any customers you did have...will stop paying their monthly fee to the useless product....hence the business folds...and people lose money. Because as WUN states the only way to make money is to get people under you to sign up...but not only sign up but continue to pay their monthly fee EVERY month. The second those customers in your downline decide they don't want to pay monthly...you better sign another one up, or you not only get no money..but start to lose money.
But just like my wife, you don't have to take it from us, and take the advice given. Invest your hard-earned money and find out the hard-way that this WUN opportunity will simply take your little $100 and keep moving onto the next. I bet you, those of us with these "horrible 9-5 jobs" will still be saying the SAME THING in 5 years....and I can guarantee that all of these WUN "business owners"......WON'T....hahahahaha.
And you'll never get not ONE WUN business owerner, distributer, founder, etc. to address their income disclosure plan admission that over 80% lose money. They will never explain to you how these stats translate into a great business opportunity. They just act like they didn't even see it or hear you....I'll wait...
The only people who make "stacks & stacks" of residual money on a consistent basis are the 1% (as their own income disclosure statement states) that STARTED the WUN MLM. Only the original people who started will make money, because they make money off of all of you. Did you start the MLM? No? Then you too will eventually lose money. The 1% has already been met, so there is no room for the rest because there are not endless amounts of customers who are going to "continue" to pay $100, $24.95, or $19.95 a month. They may do it once or twice or three times...but they WILL NOT continue to do it, once they see the can get grocery coupons and language learning software for free without having to pay monthly. The initial creators of WUN don't have to continue to advertise because all of you do it for them. If you REALLY want to make money from an MLM...you have to be deceitful like they were from the jump are start your own MLM. Then when you put the compensation plan together, you structure it right, and you will make money off of all who sign up. Period. You're welcome

Okay this is just annoying
I started an account on this website because I felt like I had to say something:
1) I looked up WUN because a friend I know had it plastered all over his Facebook, which is exactly why I am naturally hesitant with these sort of networking companies. People LOVE to say how 9-5 jobs are SOOOOOO horrible and time consuming but you know what? A 9-5 doesn't require that I turn my Facebook into an advertisement and my social life into a marketing scheme. Instead my "horrible" "prison cell" jobs have introduced me to hundreds of really cool interesting people that have benefited my life.
2) I felt like I had to say something because the sheer hubris that is used by these people. This is how they work. They all message each other about threads just like this one, then take turns spamming a thread endlessly. PLEASE NOTE that the majority of these posts have no real information to them. The lack facts and instead blame moderators for interfering with their happiness. Guess what? These people are trying to interfere with your happiness by asking for money. None of these moderators are asking for a dime. Strange? These people will not stop and will surely call me out for lying and attacking them.
3) If you have a huge social network, like 2K plus Facebook friends, WUN and companies like it can make you money. Just be careful because before you know it you'll be plugging your company into every social interaction you encounter. I saw it happen with Verve and at least they have a marketable product. Personally I hold my friends as extremely important to me and refuse to treat them like profit possibilities. Now if I have a product I think is worth selling I will. I am my own boss selling a product I import and distribute, and I also work at a restaurant part-time. However I will never try to sell a friend of mine a "program," even if that program is highly plausible. Would I invite a friend to invest in a opportunity to make money, like starting a company yes, and I have. But promising my friend a new future and inviting them to join some iffy "revolution" I will not
ANYWAYS as I said I only wasted my time doing this post because I find the WUN spokes people on this thread infinitely irritating with their bad grammar and lack of class.
Just ask yourself this: if one group of people is vehemently defending their position with logic and asking nothing of you, while one group is monotonously blasting people and begging you to "just try" their idea and then asking you for a monthly payment....who would you trust?

Yes, people join MLMs, waste time and money, and damage their personal relationships before they wise up. Sometimes they quit without wising up and join another MLM.Originally posted by lorraineb View PostSeriously? That's the best argument you can make? No showing us a check of "more money than we dream of" since that might actually be some proof? It scares me the people that are actually signing up for this.
People fall for ridiculous e-mail scams, mailing off money to Nigerian Princes, and to claim their cash prize in a lottery to which they have never bought a single ticket.
People buy crappy insurance products to use as investment vehicles, even though a quick Google search will turn up hundreds of reliable sources stating this is a terrible idea.
People pay ridiculous sums of money to buy software which claims to use a complex algorithm to determine the best time to prepay their mortgage, even though the simple formula p = rt proves mathematically that the best time is always right now.
If you lack common sense, or fail to grasp basic mathematics, there will never be a shortage of schemes to part you from your money. Some people have to learn the hard way, some never do learn.

they could show a check...and either way there would be no way to know for sure if it was indeed their own or someone up stream from them that keeps flashing their WUN Hub screenshot for everyone under them to use as their own to bait more people to join. they all do it. i know several different "lines" of people from different areas that do the same EXACT thing and readily admit it to me. it's funny too - i know one Founder 4 who openly jokes about the people under him - he knows it's a silly pyramid scheme but he doesn't care because he is making money from those people. the best part is how much time he has to spend placing people. he's literally working full time to do this, and at all hours. meanwhile, he's lost friends and pissed off family members because of the straight up harassment regarding Wakeupnow every five seconds.Originally posted by lorraineb View PostSeriously? regardless...it doesn't matter. don't believe me because that last paragraph is anecdotal evidence. Wakeupnow themselves tell everyone via their IDS that at least 80% of the people who join will not make any money on an annual basis. ZERO MONEY MADE AS PER WUN'S OWN IDS. i have yet to have one person explain to me why their own income disclosure statement should be ignored and how they...out of all the hundreds of thousands of suckers...will somehow be in the slim percentage of people that WUN admit are the only ones who profit from this nonsense.
