In a letter written by CEO Phil Polich on February 16, 2015, WUN announced it would cease all network marketing operations due to poor management by former CEO Kirby Cochran citing, "his decisions for a privileged few outweighed the incredible heart and dedication of the many". Pyramid scheme expert Robert FitzPatrick has said that WakeUpNow's closure was typical of multi-level marketing companies, and that prior to being ousted Cochran had been presented as a "godlike figure" by the company.

Truth in Advertising's review of the organization found that some of the products offered by joining its program are available for free or lower cost elsewhere on the Internet and that the organization as of September 2014 has had 160 complaints to the Federal Trade Commission.

Not surprising at all. I could get that from the video they have promoting themselves. Wake Up Now would fall into the scam department in my book. This is especially true since it bills itself as a "vacation club" which have been getting a lot of scam warning from state Attorney Generals across the country in recent weeks.

I've tried many mlm's like this and while they aren't "scam" in the sense of a total fraud, they are none the less a defacto scam. You will never make the amounts of money they claim you can make. I would stay away from anything like this.

hello guys i once thought the same thing and was skeptical myself and that's understandable. I am with wakeupnow and was able to reach the founder 4 rank in 3 months. its definitely a legit company, but you don't pay a fee to make money, your actually paying for the benefits and services that helps you save and manage your money, when your saving all of this money a month your naturally going to want to help others do the same thing, and that is what you get paid for. The ONLY thing that i can tell you is dont go for these people with all of this money flashing on youtube because alot of people in wakeupnow is just selling you dreams but not giving you the strategy on how they got there. So you wont get scammed for your money because this IS 100% legit , but you will be left out here by yourself to figure it out so you want you join someone that can help you get your people and who has your back.

Can someone explain to me how you can know it's a scam if you haven't actually done it yourself? Is it really possible to be able to determine if something is good or bad just by looking at the literature? That doesn't give you a good understanding of what the business is all about. It's only when you participate that you can make that decision. So anyone who hasn't actually done the program, there opinion is useless and should be ignored. It's important to try it yourself and not let others who have no knowledge of wake up now trick you into not making a lot of money. They're just jealous because they don't understand what a great opportunity this is.

I can't believe some people actually fall for this stuff. Then when they try to explain how it works, they don't even realize they are describing a Ponzi scheme. If there always has to be people "buying in" below you for yourself to make money, then its a pyramid scheme, plain and simple. You're not making money off your "services", rather, the money comes from how many folks you can get to fall for the same trick.

To put it bluntly, I put ZERO credibility in to blog posts of people who put their first and only post on a forum in support of some money making scheme. When you see multiple first time posters doing it, IMO that should be a HUGE red flag.

Ok so I don't get why you are so upset about something that you have never tried, and have to go back and forth with people about it. To me it seems like the problem is that maybe in the past a company wronged you and you feel that you have to take your frustration out on something. I will admit that even I had doubts but after actually doing just a little research, just like anyone should do, I found out that the only people saying that it is a scam are people that either were apart of wake now for one month and did not even try, or people who never even made the first step. Im currently a student at Brown Mackie college and I have a soon to be two year old, so obviously I do not have money to throw away, I am currently saving money by being apart of wake up now, I don't know what you've heard but the only way you can lose money is if you aren't doing anything to earn money. People waste their money on stupid things already why not put it towards something that you can benefit from?

To all that are skeptics when it comes to network marketing, this is a very great company and its 100% legit. This company provides you with products and services that allow you to have a better life and become successful. This company helps you save money, manage money & make money. I've been with the company for about 2 months and I'm currently bringing in $600/month. Although that may not be much, that's only the beginning of how far I can take my business. Best believe it takes money to make money and anyone who knows about business and investment would know that.

Currently the company is on the verge of bankruptcy, they have lost $10,000,000+ since 2011 and are currently operating on borrowed money , have brought in consulting companies and currently have $400,000 in assets.......... Let that all sink in for a second , $400k in assets???? This company is almost broke and just borrowed $2 mil from the company president. This company is about to fold but they are ramping up recruiting to collect as many subscription $$$ as they can before the whole thing implodes. 100,000 wun members are going to wake up one day very soon and find that they have to start over.

Wake Up Now The Number 1 Network Marketing Company

You should do your own research dont let others tell you if its legit or not, odds are they are just going by what everyone else says. I was introduced to wake up now about a year ago and i didnt sign up with the person that introduced me to it because i didnt know him quite well and I felt it was something illegal just because all my friends would say the same thing about network marketing companies. 5 months later my best friend dragged me to one of the presentations and after listening to it i finally decided to give it a try because it was something i could picture myself doing and i knew everyone else would do it as well. you see the whole point of wake up now is to save money, here you dont have to sell or buy products in order to make income. as a member of wake up now whenever you go out shopping for anything, you now qualify for a discount and upto 50% cashback on your purchase. Its as simple as that, for example last month my sister was going to purchase a led smart tv from target, when i found out i told her not to buy it yet because i was going to search it through the wake up now hub to see if i could get it for a cheaper price. the tv was $1400 at target, i ended up getting that same tv for $1200 and we also received 50% cashback so the tv ended up costing us %650.00. Ive been on it for 3 months now and I am currently receiving triple the income of what i make at my regular job and I could literally say its changing my life. I never believed in these type of companies but i was always open minded to new opportunities, I did my own research and found out it was a legit company which is why i joined. hope this helps.

Okay maybe it isn't a scam, but it is definitely not ethical. For the distributors; they obviously do not believe in what they are selling, they are stating that they have all these amazing deals which you have to pay monthly for.. All of these deals are actually found online for free, you just have to be willing to put in the effort to find them, and if you are in a financial hardship, wouldn't you rather do the research than pay monthly?! Also only 1% of the IBO's make over 7k a year.. 99% or so make about 2k a year.. You would make more money working at McDonalds..

Not all of these companies are a scam.. I know Mary Kay, partylite and some others are actually great. But these sell actual products that you are unable to find other places. I am an Advocare rep and I love it because I help other achieve their health goals.. You just have to believe in what you sell and shouldn't sell anything that you wouldn't buy yourself.

I think you guys have completely taken this one over the head.

After an extensive look at the products and services i see what the monthly dues are for.

access to membership privileges like 2 weeks of the vacation club (the company has bought over 10,000 timeshares so the members could take vacations for less)

corporate discounts off their cellphone bill, hotel rentals, rent a cars, etc

the marketplace offers rebates and cash back for their members as well.

The monthly dues arent just for making money that wouldnt make sense. You enroll in the benefits of the company.

It does have a referral program in which you share the opportunity you get paid a commission on it.

referring people is completely optional....You dont have to refer people if you dont want to there are plenty of people who use it for its vacations benefit, or the cell phone discount.

This is not true. Maybe the ones that you have come across, but I have come across plenty that are legitimate and make people money. You shouldn't let your own bias keep others from enjoying the dream that you can't see.

Nobody is trying to squash anybody's dreams. We're just telling it as it is. You're not going to make a lot of money from Wake Up Now. Their own statistics prove this.
