Making money with websites is definitely not an overnight get rich quick thing (no matter what the internet marketing gurus want you to believe). I have worked online in affiliate marketing for over 3 years, and believe me it can be a long, hard road. After owning and running more than 200 Wordpress websites, I can tell you it is hard work like anything else. You can sell affiliate products, have Adsense on your site, create your own ebooks, etc. But, expect it to take work and time to make it a viable income.

Let me correct a couple of things:

- You do not need website development knowledge to create a website
- Wordpress might be "free" but it has not support or guidance as to how to effectively monetize
- A blog might be one of the hardest ways to make money online
- You do not have to hire a professional

What is true is that it takes a lot of work. But that is no different than any other business.

I have created a website that is making money and that is growing month by month. I had no website development knowledge whatsoever and no idea how to make money online. What I have learned that is absolutely crucial is having a system that guides you and provides support. Which is something that you will never get with the "free" website creators like Wordpress, Joomla, Blogger, etc. Find out why here.

But if you are anything like me you might not have the slightest idea how to create an income producing site. So the big difference of using the right platform is that it educates you on how to do it in one consolidated system.

Don't fool yourself, it still requires your creativity and hard work but I have personally met people that make 4 and 5 figures monthly off their website doing the same thing I am.
