Homestead is a great way to do this for really inexpensively. You don't need to know HTML or graphic design you can design a website all on your own, own your own domain/URL and put whatever you'd like on it, I only pay $21 a month for it. But the key is: HOW are you going to make money from that website? I'm starting up some websites, one will start out as a free advice website and once it becomes popular enough I will offer companies to advertise on it for profit. Another is going to be my art website, and last, I want to start a small clothing/jewelry line sometime in the future online.

The options are endless and selling stuff online is the future, stores are very very slowly becoming something of the past.

Isn't $21 a little to much to pay for a website?

These are the worst thing I have heard from those who have experience in the same. Adsense and affiliate program. Anything new and realistic approach? I have heard guys saying some cents coming in adsense and how pathetic it is(just like few drops in a big pool or ocean).

I think this is deceiving to a large degree. If you are starting a website now, it is very difficult to make "good" money, although it is possible to make some money. The problem is the time and effort you have to put in means you are making far less than minimum wage and could make much more doing something else. The main problem is that unless you have a lot of traffic coming to your site, you won't make money. Getting that traffic takes a lot of time and dedication to build over time.

Its a lot of work, but doable as a part-time job. Read and follow the top 5 or 6 bloggers in the industry, study their posts, and stay committed. Its a slow process, but after 6 - 9 months you can earn $50 - $100 bucks a day selling ad space on a mediocre site. Traffic is key, no traffic = no money.
