Nothing is free, you need a computer, internet connection.
But there are very cheap ways.

I like netprofitstoday.com to explore ways to make money online.
Be VERY careful when researching online business opportunities, I havent been victim to scams, but I have spent money on products (books and memberships) that were not worth my money, not even my time.

Also, none of the legit effective ways are fast, prepare to work at them 1-2 years before you start seeing any dough.

You need to be or become self motivated and teachable.

Time and effort will be your biggest cost. Those first couple of years you will be paid practically nothing for all the long hours you need to put into the website to make it successful.

You will need to design your website and get a web hosting account, in order to get your website in working condition. This will definitely cost you money. What do you want to do to earn money from a website?

Well if you are competent writer then you can make money by posting on sites such as hubpages or squidoo. Though you should realise that you also will need to learn how to market your work and get the word out, as well as choosing topics which people will be interested to read.

You need to invest lot of time in making money online. You can try Adsense to your website, it's free, or any affiliate programs that interest you.

There is hardly any way..........best one create your own website and earn through google ad sense.

Not to be a party pooper (and I feel that I can address this since I do make my livelihood from websites on the Internet), but it really does take a huge amount of upfront work to build a successful website and the payoff won't come until years down the line. Do some people have near instant success? Yes, just like there are lottery winners -- the problem is that is an exception and not the norm.

I would never discourage someone from building a website, but to be honest, you will have to put in a lot of work at virtually no pay for several years before you see the payoff.

I am willing, I am having fun with mine, I am learning a lot and when it makes me money in a few years, It would be passive income, very welcomed.

But I agree, you need to work at it for a few years for free....

While it certainly can be passive income, most websites (and especially blogs) are far from passive - they must be continually updated to keep the flow of money coming in.

You are right, I guess I should call it fun income that you can maintain wearing PJ's and drinking a margarita at the side of the pool...

I love updating my website, replying to the little questions I get, etc.
I have trouble doing it consistently though, I need to improve that.
I read that setting a schedule to do it might help.

Consistency over a long period is definitely one big key. It is far more important than being a great writer (you do need to be a decent writer though). When I started this website, my goal was to place up 10 new pages of content a day (and that is when I had a full time job) and that is still my daily goal although it is spread out over a lot more websites and blogs these days. When you do that over several years, that makes for a lot of content pages. Some days it is easy and other days you just have plow through to get it done. I would say that consistency of getting quality content up was an important part of making this all work.
