Surprisingly we're living fine with just my pension plus the fact we no longer have a mortgage which gives us extra money each month. Haven't touched my savings or investments yet plus at some point my wife will also get SS to add to that. My original plans were to buy a vacation home in Tahoe but as soon as Covid hit the prices there skyrocketed. At this point I refuse to pay $800k for a house that's only worth $450k. Luckily we still travel quite a bit and simply live the same life style that we've always had.

I use Mint for my NW tracking so I actually look at it fairly often - once or twice a week at a glance and a deeper dive on my investment accounts approximately quarterly.

            Today's #s:

            NW: $787k
            Cash: $50k
            Real estate: $917k (includes primary + 3 rentals)-$522k mortgaged=$395k
Stocks: $342k (includes 401k, Roth + small taxable account)

I'm unclear what category I'd stick my new hard money loan adventure in - but I recently lent $52k on an $85k property as the primary lien holder. It's earning 11.5%. That made my cash (and Mint calculated NW) come down a bit and also makes it hard for me to calculate my NW change from Jan 1 which was $736k. Need to put some thought into how I'm cacluating that as part of my portfolio, especially if I decide to expand my investments in lending.

My 401k is up 18.7% YTD with no contributions - still down 6% from Dec. 2021 (but I also haven't contributed since that time when I left my FT job.

Retirement is down still, but not as much. it dropped 28% and is back up to being only 12% Down and that's probably because instead we've maxed out 401ks

up 25% in taxable savings but that's from savings, not from investment increases.

My mortgage is 14% from when we started and we're about to hit another milestone soon this year. Very satisfying

I suppose that would count as a fixed income investment.

I look at Mint & my investments daily. Like most I am not quite back to where I was in December 2021, but close & up significantly for the year.
