Does anyone have any spring projects lined up?

We had nice weather over the weekend, so I took advantage

So far, I've:
Serviced my lawn tractor. Sharpened the cutting blades and greased all the fittings.
Cleaned all the debris from the winter out of my yard
Assembled and tested the routing table I bought a while back
Did some work in our garden
Uncovered and cleaned the deck furniture

I still have a pretty extensive list to get to, but I had a productive weekend

I split two bee hives yesterday. I have a third which is going to need some good amount of attention.

I was going to rebuild the deck in the Fall, but that still hasn't been done, it will be the big one.

General yard care.

I did replace a ceiling fan in one bed room over the weekend, and plan to do the others soon.

I have a rod which needs to be replaced in a hot water heater.

It was very wintry this weekend; a total of 10" of snow fell and the power was out for almost 40 hours beginning Friday morning. It was winter's last hurrah, hopefully. I spent the weekend moving all my tools into a single big tool chest, sorting/organizing and cleaning it all. That felt good, it was something to keep me productive while being stuck inside.

I've got bags of seed and starter piled next to the lawn tractor waiting for the first opportunity.
First I'll need to do a quick cleanup of the yard as we had an unseasonably late wind storm before the snow which made a mess.

Probably just two medium projects other than the normal stuff this season. I want to lay new gravel on the driveway and new bark in all the bedded areas.

We had several real big black cherry trees blow down in the woods over the winter. Have been working on that, cutting it up into firewood lengths, hauling it up to the house, splitting and tossing in the wood shed.
Lots of sticks in the lawn to get cleaned up due to recent high winds.

That is the other small project I just finished, was burning all of the limbs that had fallen since fall. Between those and a couple of small trees I kept a burn barrel going for the better part of a week.

The wooded section of my lot is still covered in leaves from the fall. I'll take time to mow the area to mulch them up. I've tried to remove all of the stumps, roots, and rocks each year but I still manage to screw the mower up from inadvertently hitting them.

Building a fancy Martin House with my grandson this weekend.
He's a real bird lover.

Since you’ve already cleared the yard debris, the roof line is usually next. Winter ice can sag the brackets, so a quick "wiggle test" while you're cleaning them out can save you a headache during the April showers

My grandson and I built a fancy cedar Martin House a couple weeks ago and I finally got it set up today.
Mowed the lawn for the first time of the year also.

I'm hopefully finishing up the ceiling fans this evening.

My bedroom and living room both had fans operated by separate wall switches for the light and fan. The two spare bed rooms had light fixtures only.

The fan I purchased for my bedroom was a two wire remote control. After about a week I decided I hated it. I moved it to the spare bed room and replaced it with a three wire pull chain model. For the second spare bedroom it got an identical remote control fan. The living room got a three wire pull chain model. I'd have had it finished yesterday, but I needed to pick up an extension rod from Lowes.

For the fans in the spare bedrooms, I had to build anchors in the overhead to support them. The board I used I don't think is going anywhere, but I wish I'd went with a 2x6 instead. The bedroom and living room fans already were good enough for the existing fans so I didn't change them. The electrical boxes for both of these though are the sort that is about the size of a tuna can, of which I'm not a fan...

Had some nice weather a couple weeks ago and got all the winter muck cleared off the windows inside and out - SO much lighter in here! Big spring projects include deck repair and stain + siding repair and repaint. Not small projects, but we have the time and skillset so we're planning to DIY.

Thatch removed from the grass, aerated, fertilized, and seeded, and have even had to water the past few days b/c the weather got so nice and warm. Put the windchimes back outside. Next steps outside are bringing out the patio table and chairs, but before I do that I need to pressure wash the patio.

Over the weekend I put a bunch of finishing touches on my project car, new headliner and some interior trim pieces. Last thing I need to do is a light polish on the paint and it's done. It's ready to enjoy.

I started mulching last night. I made it about half way across the front of my house.
