I think you could do away with it all together and let the free market set the wage.
In this day and age there are few if any places that don't pay more than minimum wage anyway.

As tough as it is to find help, those that didn't pay enough would be forced to raise wages or go out of business.
I think my state min. is $7.25 You're not going to hire anybody for that when WalMart and MacDonalds start them out at $12-15

You thank a doctor works as hard as a dishwasher cut me some slack.
If a burger flipper screws up his job, you have tomatoes and onions when you're not suppose to.

If a lawyer screws up a job, you're in prison, you've lost your house, you've loss your disability.

If a doctor screws up his job, you're in the hospital three months and loose your leg due to an infection, you die from the wrong medicine, you have to get a lawyer because those pills that were going to save your marriage didn't.

Everything is even in this country, it's up to you what you do with it.

I'd like to take you serious but comparing a doctor to a dishwasher?

Two guys, Bob & John decide they want to start a ditch digging business. Their father died and left them both $20,000.

Bob buys a shovel and a wheelbarrow, and a down payment on a new pickup truck. And let me tell you what he goes to work. At the end of the day he his covered head to toe in mud, sweaty, tired, sore. And he moved 1 cubic yard of dirt.

John goes out and rents a backhoe, he also rents a dump truck for the day, he keeps driving the truck he has had for the last 8 years. He is still tired, but not covered in mud. Also he moved 50 cubic yards of dirt that day.

Ten years later Bob is still shoving away. John however has bought and paid for two backhoes, a couple of dump trucks, and employs 10 guys full time. And now John too has a new pickup truck. It's strange that Bob doesn't think John deserves that nice pickup truck. Poor poor Bob.

i think doctors deserve good pay but whats wrong with letting the little guy make just as much.

Does the "little guy" produce as much value as the doctor?

Does the "little guy" risk as much as the doctor?

Did the "little guy" have $250k in student loan debt like the doctor?

And if the "little guy" is going to be paid $100k per year to flip hamburgers, exactly how much do you think those hamburgers should be sold for?

You should consider a whole mind shift.

A doctor isn't necessary smarter than a dishwasher. A doctor is a hell of a lot more educated though.

The whole mind set about the little guy is "Poor Man's Thinking". Little people don't deserve to live in nice homes, they deserve to live in the homes they earned. It's up to them on how nice they are.

90% of America's millionaires are first generation rich. They started with nothing and worked their way up. Produce value, limit your expenses and you will accumulate wealth.

                        It already is.

If you raise the minimum wage, inflation will increase to match.

It costs to much for the little people to even buy anything. How can they live on $20 an hour it should be double that just to make ends meet. If we get everyone making alot more it will help the doctors because people can pay for them

Frosted, people should improve their stills so they can receive a higher salary. If we make employers pay everyone more it causes economic problems.

How much would you like to make per hour?
There is always a way to get there, but most aren't wiling to put in the effort or make the necessary sacrifices to get there.

That $50 per hour figure in the first post is quite attainable without a college degree. Learn how to weld, get a plumbing or electrical license, run heavy equipment, learn the skills of a mechanic, tool maker, etc.
Plus you have to be drug free and reliable.

Just a few examples above, but the workforce and employers are begging for skilled people to fill these and many other positions and will gladly train you on the job and pay that kind of money.
You can't get there as a burger flipper. You and nobody else wants to pay $25 for a Big Mac.
